Ravenswood Joomla Server (previously JoomlaLite) is a win32 web/mysql/ php server for Joomla! 1 .0. It provides a completely standalone environment for development, test and demonstration purposes. No installation is required and no system files or registry changes are required. It uses the well known Uniform server to provide the AMP environment with the addition of the Unitray plugin to control access to various additional options. Tested with Windows XP, 2K, 2K3 UHP2 now replaces the older UHP This release can be run from disk, flash drive etc. 10/01/07: updated with the latest Joomla release 1.0.12. and UHP2 1.2

This is exactly what I needed to test my sites without having to be live. Use with EXP Template and you can breeze through setting up a new site!

Installation can't be simpler, and in just a couple of minutes you have a full-featured Joomla site up and working in your desktop computer. It has saved me days of work. Thank you !

PS: after several weeks of using it, I only have one bug to report: I must unplug the LAN cable so the browser can connect to localhost.

Excellent tool, just download and run, it is that easy!. I just got rid of the virtual machines running WAMP (do not like to install many things in my dev machine). This solution rocks baby!

This is just my second review here, but I couldn't resist writing one for this very handy and good-working package...

It's just a rar-file. When u start joomla.exe a whole Apache/MySQL/PHP install is done and after that Joomla is installed including it's DB, Backend etc... Even PHPMyAdmin is installed... You can configure almost every detail of the AMP services like in real... And... If that's not enough, UHP2 is installed too...

This is a very good-working solution to test different Components, Modules, Mambots, Templates etc. in a test-enviroment....


You can try it very easily. Just download the package and run joomla.exe... This one really rocks...

This tool is absolutely amazing! Extremely fast, and most of all reliable. Props to the designer. A must have for testing, editing templates ect.. Truly amazed.

I had tried several JSAS package including the XJ, Joomla Uniform Server, WAMP, and this one. Now I think this Ravenswood Joomla Server is the best !

I really like how easy it is to get going, and the interface to launch the applications. Just unzip it, run the exe and it's going - no fuss.
It's great for testing extensions and other things before publishing them live - thanks.

Hello,

I'm normally not the type to write reviews but felt I needed to take the time and thank John Phillip for this valuable little gem. Setup went without a hitch and configuration was the same as it is in a live enviorment. I was able to upgrade from 1.0.4 to 1.0.10 and test several mods and coms. This is the perfect tool for demoing and working in a test enviorment on your local machine. Great job John!
