Just purchased this - it's very easy to install and configure, whole process takes no more than a few minutes (even for a novice like me). I was a bit worried about installing it and allowing it to make changes to my Index.php file because my site is now live, but the install was painless and nothing went wrong. :)
It pretty much does what it advertises, however, after installing I realized that you can still do "Save Page As" from within the browser and store a local copy of the page you're looking at. Once you do that it seems that the HTML is exposed again. You can even see that from looking at the demo site that they provide.
I guess it's not easy to _fully_ protect a site, but for $45 this does enough to deter the average user from copying your content... i.e. nobody can copy text, right-click or view source directly from the site - so it's enough to stop most people! Even if it was possible to hide all the source, people can still do print-screens to copy content - so there's always a way!
That aside, I'd still recommend this if you want make it harder for people to copy your site/code etc!

Seriously, I am a total newbie into Joomla and had download a couple of Extensions but this one just got my first review. Its just amazing, simple and gave what I was looking for since yesterday (almost 15 hours searching a solution for hiding code and protecting files).
First I tried to .htaccess the directory containing the files I dont wanted people to access directly. But with this extension, I dont need to make troubles with connecting .htaccess with jos_users, because the HTML enconding did the hard work of hiding the path of those files.
I really really thank you for this extension.

I downloaded this module and followed the instructions exactly. My site literally broke and wouldn't display at all in IE 7 and was messed up some in Firefox 2. Also, it did NOT encrypt my site. I don't know what is going on but do not install unless you want your site broken!
