Replication is the only component Joomla (a moment) can replicate the website (the file, folder) and / or database. In effect it allows to create an environment of pre-production and production on a server linux (rsync) Shared (OVH example). So you can mirror one site to another by creating exceptions (eg configuration.php).

The paramettage is simple:
Site "A" to the site "B",
database "A" to database "B".
Except for replication of file and/or folder

CAUTION: Before using the device, please back up all data (file structure, base), a mistake of configutaion soon arrived (and there are no second trial)
