Searches in the meta keywords of articles for terms you put in in the search box or in the parameters of the component.

Added some parameters and stuff in 0.2

Use it by adding as a component somewhere.
E.g. in a menu via Menu->[Choose a menu]->New->Component (and select KeywordSearch in the Component field and fill in the parameters).

This is a start for a complete tag solution that I couldn't find in other non-commercial extensions. I decided to use Keywords of the Meta Info for this. Why not as it boost SEO a bit and it evades adding another DB.
If you combine these, you can have the full monty of a kind of tag based site: KeywordSearch, Editor (Super Simple) Validator, Keyword Add Menu & KeywordShow
Some tips: Make a menu with same tags in different hierarchies! (Soon visible on my volunteer site http://www.tec4dev.be)

Really fills a gap in Joomla search components by emphyrio, December 15, 2007

Finally a way to have some control over the search results! I have been looking for a component like this for years.

A simple component to do a simple task: search for keywords that *I* defined. For some sites, I donīt want free text search. Instead I need some carefully selected keywords to link to some carefully selected content items. Enter Keywordsearch.

The only thing I ever found that came close to this, was the old Joomla Tags from Phil Taylor, which included a search module for the tags. The current version does not have this feature anymore.

A great component to use in conjunction with Keywordsearch is Related Items XTD. By combining these you can search AND create cross references between content using their meta keywords.

One bug I found: the title of the component is not being displayed correctly in the frontend (it just says 'Title').

Just throwing in a little feature request here: it would be nice if you could configure in the backend to limit the search to certain sections/categories. Or exclude certain sections/categories. Similar to Related Items XTD, this would be really powerful.
