Great :) by marek191, May 6, 2008

Dear Joomla People :)

Half year ago I need extend more than 3 levels access to the backend of my Joomla 1.0.x website. I'm looking for solutions. I try working with JACLPlus which was great when it worked, but easily broken by installing other extensions. Next I try use other components available in this category "Group Access". At the end of my research I look on this site.

It was on January 2008. After reading this short descriptions, official website, manual and e-mails from developer in April I buy it. I am glad. It worked exactly the way I needed it to work.

Now after more than month I didn't have any problems with this component so I can say that cACL is the best component for control backend group access for Joomla 1.0.x. Why?

1. Works good, easy to configure (manual available).

2. You can instal and uninstal it as a normal Joomla components (without any special code added to other Joomla file -> JACLPlus). Remember it's need ionCube but it's popular and available on all pay servers.

3. Excellent support. Developer answers very quickly for yours poroblems/wishlists/future requests.

4. If you use it you can allow/restrict all options available for user from joomla group "administrator". You can allow/restrict to all options available on top menu for this user.

5. You can restrict any sections/categories and static article (one article for this user another for next user).

6. You can allow/restric access to any installed components (no hack).

7. You can build yours own group of users with special rights.

8. You can hide all the parameter tabs available on new/edit article pages ("Publishing", "Images" etc).

9. You can make something like "workflow" (one user write news, next approval (publish) and from this time user who write is can't changes it). Oryginal Joomla 1.0.x can't do it with cACL you can make it. :)

10. In last version after my future requests developer add full control of "User Manager". Now you can allow user to changes password or other options for his profile (or others) and ... allow to add for e.g. only new users to Joomla group "Author". :)

11. And much more options in cACL 1.4.4... :)

Let's go to the official website and try trial version and buy it. :)

At the end. This is one of the components that make your Joomla site professional. Should be integrate into core of Joomla (Maybe it's also great way to ACL in Joomla 1.6.x. :D).

Thanks for a great extension.

I truly recommended it. Works very well, and easy to configure. If anyone need to give different level access to joomla 1.0.x backend cACL is the one great solution. :) Mark my words, cACL will be the number one ACL component for Joomla in a very short time. :)

Great Product by carcracker, March 13, 2008

I have multiple managers on my site and needed this product to basically keep mistakes from being made and not overwhelming other users with all the components and categories that would have been displayed to them otherwise. I had one glitch with the program which the author fixed in a few hours.

The component I have been dreaming about by stank, January 21, 2008

I have been hunting for a component to restrict access in the back-end of Joomla for months and was in a bund when JBAM has been closed to the public. I then was surfing around and found this great piece of software.

It has been a dream come true and worth every penny spent.

Their support is amazing and have been very helpful

A+ Guys, keep up the great work! :)

CACL rocks! by SPT Team, December 8, 2007

We had the needing to assign specific administration levels to different users for this large site, we asked vntrade.info for their advice, and they gave us this excelent component!

CACL provided us what we didn't find anywhere else in a very easy and simple way: give backend access to specific components and (the greatest functionality) specific static content items! to selected users.

If you need to give different level access to joomla backend this is the solution for you, CACL fills the empty space that existed for modular permissions assignment.

A great recommendation for this great component!
