This simple little plugin will display the YouTube Flash player in your articles when {youtube}xxxxxx{/youtube} is inserted in the text, where xxxxxx is the YouTube ID for choosen video, playlist or custom player.

Version 1.1 no longer removes title, author etc. from articles!

Have support for single videos, playlists and custom players, and the appearance/functionality of the player is customizable through various parameters.

The HTML output can be rendered as plain HTML (the default when embedding videos from YouTube) or as a mix of HTML and JavaScript through the SWFObject (http://blog.deconcept.com/swfobject/). The latter is recommended, as it removes that pesky “click to activate and use this control” from Internet Explorer, among other things.

Includes language support through .ini files (English, German and Norwegian included).

Simple and brilliant by gjeffery, June 25, 2008

I am a neophyte setting up my first Joomla system. This plugin was trivial to install, and very easy to use. We now have two videos embedded in our pages--total time required was half an hour to convince myself this was the answer, plus ten minutes to install the plugin and put links into the pages.

No frills, perfectly workable, super-easy. I installed and immediately used it at 3 am on a deadline.

I'd love to be able to link a thumbnail image to the video, but that's not a fault of this extension, which works as advertised quite well.

Very simple and no fuss. Install, turn on and then embed the video into your articles.

Thank you for this plugin - has worked first time and every time.

You may need to explain how to get the You Tube ID for any given video for very newbies.

You Tube gives you all this code to embed:

In this example the 1YwvUpz6A6c is the ID.

{youtube}1YwvUpz6A6c{/youtube} is what goes in your article (after you have installed the plugin that is)
