The Flash Module displays a Flash / SWF file as a module. Useful for flash headers, menus, and much more. Uses parameters to control some of the more important flash player settings including Width, Height, Window Mode and Flash Player Version. The Flash Module can also display your SWF using an external Javacript file (for IE6 and IE7) and can be used multiple times on a single page. *** New version 3.0+ provides alternate HTML display when flash not detected.

This module does as it says. Is very easy to "plug&play" and probably will take part on most of my joomlasites.
A great improvement for future versions is the ability to handle movies with "loadmovie" or "loadmovienum" commands. Actually the movie tries to find the movie at root instead of the same dir.
With this feature and the link one we can consider this module complete!

I had this problem and resolved it by:
Setting the z-index of the menu css to a higher value.
eg. z-index: 999;
and the index of the flash element to a value of 0.
Then make sure the flash settings are set to “Opaque” or “Transparent” as the default “Window” will always ensure the flash is embedded at the highest z-index, which we don’t want in this case. |

I love this module but there is a major problem as it is always in 'front' ...
I have some drop down menus and a search module with drop down results to a higher position and the banner is covering all of them so they are not visible.
Wish you could fix this in a future update ;)

Works fine if you would like to have your content played in a loop. The fix on line 111 only works for Firefox, IE7 still handles a loop. |

The only negative thing would be that the animation wouldn't stop looping even though I selected "No" in the loop option.
There is a small bug in mod_flashmod.php in line 111:
Change
if ($fm_loop == 'false')
to
if ($fm_loop == 'no')
and it's done. Owner's reply: The loop issue has been fixed in version 3.0.2. |

Works great! I had it installed and working in minutes. I like the fact that you can put it in a specific module location and the movie clip will start running without the user having to click on it. Would like to see some documentation for this extension, though. |

This module is very simple and does exactly what it says on the tin!
Embedding Flash content into a header in Joomla can sometimes be a bit of a pita. This module provides a very simple - no thrills - way to do it. |

This simple module works fine and great except it lacks the ability to have a link on it. We just don't want to show our flash and have no link. I would give 5 stars if this could have a link. Anyway, thanks for the great module. |
