Very nice component by PuraVidaWebDesign, May 10, 2008
Implementation was easy. However I did had to create a location file for Costa Rica (which was very easy) and additional I had to add the country code to the mySQL table
After that it worked right away.
Only thing I really would like to have integrated would be the capability of having several cities shown.
I use rafweather as the module and it shows all 12 available cities in costa rica, but when i click on either one of them only the default location (san jose) will show up
For the rest I think that the programmer did a fantastic job

Great, great and great! by lsvf07, May 3, 2008
Looks very professional and attracts more visitors. Easy and quick installation. It was also easy to translate, except for the current conditions, which are given in english only. Unless I'm missing something...

I wish that you wiill ad the xml about Israel.

Owner's reply:
I think you can get the Israel information by doing the following:

Admin Back-end > Components > eWeather > Locations > Inst. City (button on top-right)

Select "Middle East" as the "Region", and "Israel" as the "Country".

Good Luck! =)

Muy Buen Componente! (Very good component) by damianramirez69, March 29, 2008

It was difficult to understand how to load the cities of Argentina (my country), but apart from that, it is an excellent choice when it comes to show the weather in Joomla! I congratulate the people of MamboBaer.de and the people of Weather.com for the info for free.

Excellent component by Pentreiz, March 2, 2008

I have been using this component for a while now. It works very well. you can see for yourself at http://www.meteo-pentrez.fr/component/option,com_eweather/Itemid,61/.

Some people have complained about the link to the weather channel feed. It is correct, that feed leads to all sorts of unpleasant experience, but this problem has nothing to do with the component. In fact, one does not need to request access to the Weather Channel feed as the component takes care of this for you.

Again, great component, I am looking forward for a 1.5 release.

Michel

Thank you for a great component/module. =]

Pure Con and that is all it seems by silver007, February 17, 2008

I downloaded it and to get anything to work you need to register with Weather.com and mebussme is completely correct, you are sent through a series of requests for personal information and having to opt in to recieve info to register.

In the end I accepted all the 15 or so registrations and still was not lead to the "partner ID" codes as eweather refers to them. Instead I was lead towards even more attempts to get me to sign up to other offers.

This seems a complete con on the part of the writers of this moduleto spam people. I would recomend the moderators of this section look seriously into the writers and owners of this module as all it seems to be doing is wasting time.

Owner's reply:
I'm sorry you've had a bad experience with Weather.com. Unfortunately, we cannot control The Weather Channel's site. I've been trying to contact the original developer of eWeather, but he seems to be a hard person to contact. If any coding changes are made, I'll try to let everyone know.

Waste of time! by mebuzzme, December 21, 2007

I have tried repeatedly to get the license key from Weather.com but when you try and sign up it sends you to Coolsavings.com and you have to go through endless pages of product offers. I still haven't received the license email yet. A terrific waste of time.

Owner's reply:
I'm sorry that you are having trouble with Weather.com, and I wish I could help you. However, I have no control over Weather.com. It sounds as if you are in some sort of advertising loop. I would suggest updating your anti-spyware software, scanning your system, and trying again. Good Luck!

Excellent Component! by wbell, December 19, 2007

I've been using this component, for about a year now, and I've had very little trouble with it. Doing a quick forum search, or Google search, has always gotten me the answer. Using the smaller icon theme has proven to be VERY nice, for my site's layout. I'm really looking forward to an updated version. Hopefully, the programmer will not let this excellent component die. Great job! Keep up the good work!

Clean, but... by itchibahn, December 18, 2007

Works good and clean looking. Admin must install each region and state, and only those installed region and state can be displayed. Each user have to physically change the default city versus automatically changing based on city on their profile.

Daily views inoperative with globals off by mattstahl, December 16, 2007
2 of 2 people find this review helpful:
Don't get me wrong. I think the eweather concept, layout, features and display are among the best in category, but version 1.1 was originally released March, 2006 and does not appear to have been updated since. That makes it hard to claim new extension status. I long ago noted in the Joomla.org forum that the daily views links in the 5 and 10 day forecast calendars do not work with register globals set to off. I have never received a direct response on the matter from the author despite numerous contact attempts. Fix this bug and your application's perfect.

Thanks. That link provides ALL the answers. I'd recommend incorporating the severe weather alert and daily forecast links in the forum posts into an updated release. The waxing gibbous moon icon also appears to contain a small error you might want to correct. With these changes, my rating would rise to 7 on a 5 point scale. Great job!

Owner's reply:
I realize that the homepage is in German, but please check out the forums. There are several posts, in English, which may help you. In particular, there is a fix for the forcast calendar issue! Too good - but doesn't seem to support my country ! by nmedh, December 16, 2007
2 of 2 people find this review helpful:
I wish this had support for more countries. Seems to support US, UK and a few others only, better checkout from weather.com before downloading

Owner's reply:
Which country are you looking for? eWeather has many downloadable location files. See: http://www.mambobaer.de/component/option,com_docman/Itemid,8/task,cat_view/gid,22/
