very nice fotoalbum by janbockaert, July 27, 2008
There where only two small problems with this component, none of them deal breakers. In order to install it, you had to extract it, and then rezip the component without the osX folder. And translating the language file, did not seem to work on my site...

But once installed, it worked like a charm (in FF3) This component is by far the easiest way to get a beautiful photoalbum in your joomla site.

Very, very tastfull!

thanks.

Beautiful, but slow for windows browsers by esydor, June 17, 2008
After spending a few days tweaking this component to work with my site, everything looked great. The little Polaroid like thumbnails were just fabulous and i thought everything was great.

Then we started getting reports from Windows users saying that the site was unbearably slow. It took a few days to figure it out, but once i uninstalled this component the site went back to being speedy. Some reason with my setup and template the site came to a crawling stop just for Windows users (Firefox, and IE 6+7). Anyone else experience this?

Hope this can be worked out, switched to a Flickr plugin instead for now. But it's not as graphically nice as this one.

Not ready for non-developers by awkwards, April 21, 2008
This is a very nice looking component in the demo site.

I was unable to get it to work. I scanned the forums and was able to solve the first parsing error thanks to respondents there (be sure your host has truly activated PHP5 on your account).

However, when I received a fatal error having to do with one of the code libraries the component uses, I was lost and noticed others on the forum in the same predicament with no solution. I will wait for a more stable version that is more friendly for non-developers. This component needs better error handling in order for me to be able to use it.

:) Try the new version. Hope you can change your mind :p

A great idea! by MissShona, April 15, 2008
This component was just what I was looking for. I already have a good number of pictures on Picasa and I'm working on a personal Joomla website. I wanted a picture gallery, but didn't want to deal with uploading pictures all over again. Plus it's very attractive.

I did not give it five stars though because it was tough to configure. You MUST read the developer's instructions on his webpage in order to get the scripts and learn to install them so that they can work (the pictures will appear...but the "eye candy" will not be there). Also my site is in a subdomain...so the given header instructions didn't work (had to go through the forums in order to get the answer). Then I didn't like the components main page...actually had to go into the .php file to change that around. And finally you HAVE to have PHP 5 enabled on your domain...or this component will not work.

I think this component has a lot of potential. If you have the patience to do what you need to do in order to get it set up and running. I thought it was worth it in the end though.
