 Serverstat is (as far as we know, the only Joomla software) capable of showing the online status for several servers. This version supports an wide variety of servers from which the server status can be rendered. Serverstat is made out of a main componten (com_serverstat) and module (mod_serverstat) and can be extented with an online componten (com_serverstathelp), a module to render the individual status (mod_serverstatindividual) and a mambot (mos_serverstat).The main functions for this Joomla module are:
* Showing the online status in an Joomla module of serveral server types (game, voice, streaming mp3, internet hosts).
* Server details (link accessible from module), fully configurable thru templates.
* Multilingual support (currently Dutch, German, English and Chinese).
* Maintenance of server list thru Joomla backend.
* Server usage and performance logging (when supported by server type) thru crontab. Statistics can accessed thru the backend, and used in the frontend templates.
* Graphical representation of the performance logging data from previous mentioned option.
* Special option to trace server response and class timing (especially helpfull with trouble shooting).
* Options to influence query behaviour of servers, especially slow-server support is an nice option that prevents web-site performance drop.
* When a firewall prevents retrieving the online status, retrieving the online status can be read from a remote content provider. The following server engine types are supported:
* ASE.
* Doom 3 alike game types.
* Enemy Territory alike game types.
* File transfer protocol (ftp) servers.
* Gameservers using the Gamespy protocol. Gameservers using the Gamespy 2 protocol, specially modified to support Battle Field 2 servers in a proper manner.
* Half Life alike game types.
* Half Life 2 alike game types (like Counter Strike and Counter Strike Source).
* Icecast streaming audio.
* Medal of Honor alike game types.
* Quake 3 engine alike game types.
* Quake 4 engine alike fame types.
* Shoutcast Mpeg Layer 3 Audio Streaming (www.shoutcast.com).
* Soldier of Fortune alike game types.
* SWAT4.
* Unreal Tournament (UT-XMP, UT2K3, UT2K4) alike game types.
* Teamspeak voice servers (www.teamspeak.org).
* Ventrilo Voice servers (this without the need of a third party module to retrieve the online status!).
* Web servers.
Currently the online status for the following server types have been tested. We offer template support for all servers mentioned below. You can in fact extend Serverstat with new templates if the supported ones are not enough, feel free to extent it with new server templates (don't forget to mail them to me):

A very good component, unfortunately does not work, have tried several solutions, also no proper answer on site forum only the same answer back from author e.g. could be firewall? (it didnt work when there was no firewall either/testing), enable remote..?, add clantools website etc. And it still says offline/shoutcast when it is indeed online. Too much of a headache, congratulations to everyone that got it working. |

This is such a useful add-on for any clans Joomla based website. I agree with the others here - each new version gets better and better!
I remember when I used to use a shared TeamSpeak server, and I just wanted to display my "channel" stats. A simple post on the forum to Willebil and a few hours later I was given a custom script. That's some pretty good support ;-)

I have used this component since version 4 and I have been very pleased with wilebils progress and continued approach to improving this product. We worked with wilebil to figure out the cause behind the shoutcasting server problem that was within serverstat. I believe we made wilebil lose many hours of sleep. He has always made a reply to my forum posts within 24 hours and sometimes he has personally logged into my site to do diagnostic tests to figure out what the problem is.
Your not going to find any other component/module combination that supports the amount of servers that this one does. It is very versatile. Sometimes it takes a bit of time to get the module and component setup 100% correctly but even then at times the servers status shows offline. However this could be due to any number of reasons outside of the component.
In the end this is a solid module/component combination. I don't understand why others have complained about the support as wilebil has been there during times of need whether it be on the forums or through his IRC channel.

I have used the component on various sites now and must admit I am extremly pleased. Configuration of the component is almost self explanatory and if there is anyone with problems there is a very good online documentation available for download.
Especially the Remote Servers are extremly usefull for anyone stuck behind a firewall or having similar trouble.
Additionaly I must admit that I don't see any trouble with the support. Every trouble I had so far was solved or at least I got an answer.
And by the way:
Serverstat REALLY improves from version to version. Especially the module and the rendering templates have improved unbelievably over time

Sorry mate. You posted your question, and two days later on you stated you removed the component on your site, so i suggested no help was needed. Just take a look at the forum, and you see that help is out almost instantaniously. Pitty you write this review this way. Serverstat was a hard job and supporting the community is something i put in much effort.
Also take a closer look about your complaint the forum is of no help. Serverstat holds some features to resolve offline server status handling, that most of the times are explained with firewalls that are in place. I gladly am willing to help, just reach out in the forum and you will get all the help needed.

This addon is a great idea, however I was unable to get it working. The forum on the makers website is little to no help. There were a number of people on the site asking for help with the same question "all servers show offline" but no answers are supplied by the dev team or anyone else for that matter. In the end I suggest reading their website's forums to see if they have resolved any of the porblems with this addon before you waste your time downloading it and or trying to get it working. |
