As its name indicates, Bot link is a plugin which automatically places links on pieces of text of your choice in your Joomla! articles. You may use it with a simple text expression or a more advanced perl regular expression. An additional nice feature is that It does not introduce links in places already containing one...

Does exactly what you would expect it to.

I run a news site that has to credit stories back to the original source. I have been using cut and paste from a file based on my home machine to achieve this, which limits me when away from home.

Now I just have to put in the original source in the appropriate upper and lower case that I have preset up in the bot and the link is created for me, releasing me to post stories from anywhere in the World.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

1 of 1 people find this review helpful:
Using this on a .13 joomla install. Works great. The only thing I wish I could do is actually hide the links ie.. have an option to turn off the underline. Though I am not sure if this is the mod or if this is just a setting in joomla itself. Other then that was super simple install and so far no issues.

Owner's reply:
Specific links introduced by Bot_link may be modified through template CSS and the "class" argument of the plugin since version 0.1.2.

I like this bot. Too many bots is a bad idea, because they are always running in the background, but for me, this is idea for linking peoples names to profiles.

One things I found right away, I entered like 25 names, and if you edit them in a normal way, like notepad, and you do one per line, it will enter 24 carriage returns. So, you have to make all of them on one line.
