JoomlaPC provides windows users with a complete J!1.5 solution - without the need for hosting space online. When extracted and run, JoomlaPC creates a virtual drive W: on the windows machine which takes the place of a public_html folder online. Users then get full local access to all Joomla! files, phpmyadmin and configuration options without the need to upload any files. The thing I like most about this extension is that it is simple. You don't have to navigate through an interface. It doesn't even need installing. It just runs, does what it should, sits in the tray, and has the other important elements (i.e. phpMyAdmin) when needed.

By the way, I have used this quite happily with Joomla 1.0.x, as well as Joomla 1.5.

And to the developers, thanks for this extension.

This tool is just perfect. We are in the process of re-designing a very big website from ASP to Joomla and JoomlaPC does an excelent work. With the tray icon you can access your MySQL files through phpMyAdmin, it has some additional functions that I have not even tried.

Great for testing new components or modules locally.

Worked just as it said it would, straight out of the box. I can now use this to help newcomers play with a Joomla site before tackling a site out in the real world.
Just one little thing, wish I could find how to put a built site onto a CD or USB stick. That would be just great.

this looks very nice! i wonder if this completely removes itself when the services are stopped?

Since JoomlaPC runs entirely from a single directory, there's nothing to 'remove' :)

No need to work online and test etc. Works smoothly offline - so easy to work and test site now ... just remember skype disable .. Thumbs up

This looks excellent, though couldn't find forum or support, just bug tracker. I had one prob when I just kept getting a blank page when starting it up. It was caused by Skype using the same port. Quit JoomlaPC and Skype, then start JoomlaPC and then Skype and you're away.
Thanks a lot for this. It will be a big help learning to create templates for 1.5

For anyone having trouble getting this going, please visit Uniform Server's homepage for assistance. More information is available in the homepage article when JoomlaPC is launched (successfully *blush*).
