The component is Whois for Joomla, where you can check the availability of a domain name for registration, and/or to retrieve the current registration information from whois. Multiple TLD's can be used, and easily added from the backend. Scripted or robot submissions are foiled with the use of on-the-fly graphical codes that need to be entered before a lookup is done.

There is a module associated with this component now, but there is only one webserver's details supplied with the component, nad it's just too limited. I'm going to go find a thirdparty solution I can just embed in a wrapper instead.
