Version 2.0 of this exciting new complete menu management component has been released for Joomla1.5 and older versions.
I used to sell this for $29USD, but now I've upgraded it and it works with all versoins of Joomla, I've decided to give it away for free. I think this is one of the most useful downloads for Joomla that you'll ever get. which is one of the reasons I decided to give it away. The reviews are misleading, I think most of then are talking about swMenuFree and swMenuPro, which are two completely different componets that make dynamic menu modules. SwMenuMaker creates and edits new and existing whole menu structures in minutes instead of hours. Dynamic tree interface gives a graphical representation of your menu structure. All menu item properties and ordering can be edited directly on the one page without any time consuming page reloads. When your finished editing and happy with the menu you just press save.

For drop menus. Allows for variable / auto width items in a horizontal menu, which is not supported by lxmenu for example. extremely simple to set up and one easily editable css file, no delving into the javascript necessary.

Best Menu Maker by shogeipr, March 27, 2008

I am not a Joomla newbie but I am no expert either, therefore it is great when you install a component or module that it works the first time around with no or minimal tweaking. I tried at least 2-3 menu creators before this one and they all had some level of issue in displaying the menu. I installed the free version of this. It is feature rich, simple to use and works right of the bat! Congratulations on an excellent tool! Thanks!

Excellent Menu System by JCarnley, March 21, 2008

I tried a number of drop down menu options for Joomla. This one always displayed correctly in IE and Fire Fox without any alteration to my template. There are so many options and I just used the free version.

I was very new to Joomla when I purchaed the menu maker. Naturally I had a few difficulties with it. Sean was very prompt in answering my questions. He even gave me css codes to correct some problems I was having. I'm very happy with the menu!

One of the Best! by KimH, November 13, 2007

This unquestionably is one of the best extensions I've purchased. Well worth the $$!! To a n00b like me, it's even pretty intuitive (and Joomla! isn't intuitive at all).
Also, the support is outstanding -- by far the best for any product I've purchased. I can't say enough positive things about it.
It all makes me want to learn as much as I can about CSS! (Scary thought!)
Thanks for all the hard work, Sean!!

Great software, great support! by webdoc46, October 15, 2007

One of the few components with a detailed support pdf. It works in both Firefox browsers and Explorer, without having to tweak anything to get submenus to line up, as opposed to some other menu systems I tried. The free version only lets you modify one single menu, and only has 2 different menu systems, but the pro version is cheap for the price, and lets you make menus to your hearts content. You can have solid colors or images for backgrounds, change fonts, borders, colors of everything, etc. Plus, it gives you the choice of saving these on each page, or in an external style sheet, and why each method is good/bad. You can start with their options and get something functional immediately, or modify extensively. Plus, it's the only system I have found so far that lets you have a submenu that floats to the left, on a right side menu.

It couldn't get any easier than this! by WebTrooper, August 4, 2007

I thought Joomla! menus were as easy as it gets, but I was wrong. swMenuMaker is a "Works perfectly right out of the box" menu manager like no other. The only thing better than this is their premium version, which I'm definately going to buy. Thanks Sean White!

You indicate the component is compatible with Joomla 1.5... I just tested it with RC1 and both swMenuMakerFree and swMenuFree crashed when trying to run the compenent. However, I do love this compenent and am anxious to have it working in Joomla 1.5 very soon.

It's the best menu system for Joomla! I've tried many menu system such Extended Menu, but no one can beat this module for its flexibility and simplicity. No doubt about it!
I've bought the Pro Version which cost me $199, but still I won't regret it. Very recommend it!

It works very well, does what is should do.
It's a pity you can only do one menu (if you make another, the first will be deleted) in this free version.
The only bug I've experienced is that I don't see any result from the 'Sub Menu Indicator'. The sub menus work fine, but I would expect an arrow or something in the main menu to indicate that a sub menu is present.

Allows you to quickly edit links in the menus (no DB stuffing around) by conan, June 28, 2006

This allowed me to link my mainmenu items to direct URLs of my image galleries. In Gallery2 for example I can now get a link to open directly to an individual album.
Next it allows you when changing links in the menu to just change a type from a drop down, not to delete the link and remake it with the new component type (for example).
Lastly it is very quick to use, you can edit menus in no time at all.
I am so happy with the as I can now have my links the way I want without going in and stuffing around with databse entries (which was the only other suggestion I had from the forums).
