ABOUT:

HighSlide is a JS similar to lightbox / greybox / slimbox and many others but I prefere the Style much more. Instead of poping up and fading out the website it give the user the feeling not to seperate the photo from the page.

PRE-REQUIREMENT:

I take no Credit for the HighSlide Script, I just done the Plugin for Joomla. The Highslide Module itself was programmed by the Norwegian Author "Torstein Honsi" Highslide JS is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 2.5 License. So get this Plugin running you need to Download Highslide spearately from the authors webpage, you can get it here: http://vikjavev.no/highslide

cool !! and... for Joomla 1.0.x ? by mikyatope, March 7, 2008

I was using HighSlide by myself in custom webpages ... I'm so glad we can use easily with Joomla 1.5 ! and, if the requeriment is to install the real HighSlide JS from the autor, it means we can have the latest version easily...perfect!

Now... I was thinking... how cain I adapt this to work with Joomla 1.0.x? I'm learning to develop things in joomla, an this could be my first real extension made for the community

This is perfect! I have been messing around for two days trying to figure out something to give me an effect within articles using pics from gallery2. (Also having it work with 1.5 and with ie7) Finally! Thank you sooooo much!! I will sleep tonight because of this handy plugin.
I should also qualify that, being a relative newbie-I was having a bleep of a time trying to integrate anything else.
Very simple install-very simple to use-beautiful on the page!

Before this I was using the excellent GreyBox Show plugin by Joomler!.net, Only thing was the popup box took over the screen. (not the developers issue)

As the Developer: Marco Goetze states: Instead of popping up and fading out the website it give the user the feeling not to separate the photo from the page

I use this with Windows Live Writer and makes my images in my news stories in Joomla look very professional.

The support was excellent as I had a reply to my post promptly.

This plugin has a lot of potential to add the effects that can be seen from the "Torstein Honsi" Highslide JS authors webpage into the plugin.

We totally love Highslide on our site, and I was quite disappointed to see everyone using lightbox (and derivatives) on most Joomla Implementations. Just downloaded and installed this extension and it's working perfectly. Everything that wants to use lightbox now uses Highslide instead... Excellent integration! Thank you very much, this will greatly increase the integration look and feel between our existing site and the new Joomla! 1.5 based section.
