Jooblog stands for joomla blog. It is a joomla 1.5 native component to provide blogging functionality.. All-in-one :: a component that handles posts, comments, categories, rss. Feel free to download the components and its modules for displaying categories and latest posts. The display and the layout of this component is done by a css file (at default is empty - only some selectors are pre-defined) so anyone with basic knowledge can modify it..

now this one worked right. by outerspace, May 29, 2008
It's not perfect, but works well so far.

Would be nice to have the same front-end access that iDoBlog has, but it's a lot easier to set up then that.

Also, I created new classes in my existing CSS before seeing that it had it's own empty CSS ready to be filled. (It's hard doing these things without the documentation!)

Also- the RSS icon that comes with the install is a .gif, but the page is trying to pull in a PNG-- i saved it as rss_icon.png and now it comes up. Might wanna fix that one.

All up though, very nice.

far from ready by lightningbit, April 29, 2008
Looks good at first (simple and clean)
however, I came across a number of issues :
- database tables were created with the wrong prefix
- various scripting errors (they were reported on the authors website)
- very little to no documentation (e.g. how to set it up and start using it)

because it looks good, I hope to see a more "ready" version soon, for now, I will have to uninstall it, and I've to go out and look for another (stable) blog component for J1.5

Finally a Blog for Joomla 1.5 by mallamace, April 3, 2008
No problem, easy install. Looks like it works fine. Very clean app from the outside. Very easy to understand if you are 5% familiar with how a blog should work you'll do fine with this one.

Good Bot control for commenting. It has RSS Feed ability. I don't know how well it works with search engine friendly URLS.

Well on its way to becoming a great component by deggertsen, March 29, 2008
I needed to set up a blog for one of my sites and I decided to try this one since it has been developed just for Joomla 1.5. I was very happy when it installed without any problems and worked like a charm. Granted it is missing some features that I am very much looking forward to in 0.1.2 but this is an amazing start! Keep up the good work!

The only thing that didn't work for me was the name :) by Kevin Hogan, March 29, 2008
This worked fine for me and I'm relatively new at this. I'm tinkering with the transparent Replicant theme and this extension also looked quite nice in that framework.

Was easy to setup and kind of got it working but has bugs/malfunctions that make it unusable. It spews errors when accessed.

No response from the author on their web page or by emailing their support address.

Failed Miserably by N6REJ, March 15, 2008
I was unable to get any kind of menu system to work with this component.

Great beginnings! by raydale, March 10, 2008

This module epitomises Joomla! even at this early stage in its development (version 0.1.1 at time of review) - It is extremely easy to use and setup.

The future feature list looks impressive for v 0.1.2 as well.

Currently this component supports comments, multiple categories per post, administration of posts, comments, categories and RSS. It is simple, bare-bones blogging, but it works very well.

I really hope that this component can continue to grow and grow as it could become the defacto standard for Joomla blogging.

Absolutely beautiful by johndoesovich, March 3, 2008

Awesome work. One of the very few things that Joomla lacks without having to piece it together. Wish I would have seen this a few hours ago before I pieced my site together.

Thanks for the contribution.
