sIFR (http://www.mikeindustries.com/sifr/) allows you to use non web fonts on the internet while keeping your site accessible. We've created a mambot that allows you to easily integrate this into Joomla.

Perfect out of the box by one7media, May 6, 2008
I've put off trying this out for a while and regret it big time. This is probably one of the most under-rated plugins out there and takes 2 minutes to get working.

Installs with two fonts, but if you go to http://www.isarie.com/?p=17 you can download the whole package - 5mb and 289 sIFR fonts to choose from!

Crashes my site on some pages :-/ by godyn, January 8, 2008
To bad, I really like this plugin, and am expecting muc of it.
It crashes on some pages, the page is not accessible simply. Could it be a conflict with sh404 or Joomfish?
Also 1 size for the titles would be appreciated. Now the titles scale.
Hope the developper examines the bugs and you have a happy user extra ! :-)

love it!! by umarglobal, July 20, 2007
Thank you so much for incorporating this into joomla!

Yes, it's brilliant by hadingrh, July 15, 2007
I've decided to change the default fonts with script style (exp. Mistral font). And, it's works perfectly. :d
Great job.

So simple it's brilliant by steve7, June 1, 2007

I had to write this my first review after testing this extension. I'd wanted to put sIFR on a site but I expected it to be a complicated affair with the flash and all.. This extension just does it all for you in the 30 seconds it takes to set it up :

1. download
2. install mambot
3. publish mambot
4. copy the block of code to the bottom of your template just before the closing body tag
5. open your site in the browser and enjoy the smooth sIFR effect on your page headings !!

Simple and efficient, what more can you ask for..

As for lacking instructions as some others have noted..there seems to be plenty of info on the developers forum (haven't needed to go down that route yet), but a quick look at the block of code gives you a few clues :

- the swf file to use for the font face (by default it's tradegothic.swf)
- the color of the text (by default it set to c64934, change to adapt to your colour scheme)
- transparent or opaque (I think this is for the background, by default it is transparent).

The mambot installs 2 swf files into your mambots/system/ folder : tradegothic.swf and vandenkeere.swf. Tradegothic is sans-serif font (like arial, verdana etc.) and vendenkeere is serif (like Times, Georgia, Garamond etc.)

So, just choose which font suits your site the best, change the color to fit and you're away !

Thankyou Adam !

What a concept by MyJC, December 14, 2006

This is a great port to Joomla! of a cutting edge technology. I'm very grateful that Adam has done this. It lacks some in the "how do you use this thing" area (it takes some digging to understand - ie: not for newbies) aka documentation, but it's very easy once it's understood.

sIFR itself seems to have some font size/spacing issues to work out and this plug in - in this version, anyway - faithfully conveys the great and the needs-attention to Joomla!
