JBookmarks - Web 2.0 Social Bookmarking Script

46 Social Icons to choose from. This Module is based in concept on the all-popular 'Social Bookmark Script Module' but we wanted to provide a better looking, more optimized, lightweight, usable alternative for Joomla 1.5.x users. The JBookmarks social bookmarking module utilizes some minimal (optional) Mootools library effects. Radio buttons in the backend make choosing icons easy. Fast, clean web 2.0 style, and an effective way to drive traffic to your site. Tested with Joomla 1.5.0, 1.5.1, 1.5.2 native.

I am a Joomla newbie and am continuously blown away by the high quality of the system and extensions such as JBookmarks. It literally took me less than 5 minutes to download and install. My only gripe, as I believe someone else pointed out, is the inability to order the icons.

In addition, it would be nice to have a single button similar the one found at addthis.com

Easy to download, easy to install, and easy to use.
This is the one. Do not even try the other ones listed. This one only took me a few minutes to download, install, and set up. Im done.

I have experimented with various social bookmarking add ons and JBookmarks is by far the easiest to install and configure, and also the most functional.
It does not however populate the keyword/tags, and notes/review content, and that together with some other social sites like Myspace for example, would be good to see in future releases.

In a time where bookmarking is of the outmost importance JBookmarks - Web 2.0 Social Bookmarking Script does exactly that. Bookmark in populas sites like facebook, delicious, digg.

Combine with the tag {loadposition} in your items and you can bookmark each of your items individually. eg {loadposition user8}

PROS:
Easy to Install
Lots of bookmark sites

CONS:
No Documentation
No Forum

Would be nice to have the ability to sort the bookmark sites the way I want.

Also note that JBookmarks is a social bookmarking site and will appear first and can't be disabled

Thanks, will look into adding the ability to sort the icons sometime soon i think.

Not sure if it's complicated enough to merit a forum or documentation :) I have a massive list of icons id like to add soon. If i get the time i'll setup a forum/documentation area.

I had problems with some of the plugin based social bookmarking extensions causing XHTML validation errors. This one worked perfectly immediately on install....doesn't have some of the extras that some of the plugin based ones I saw had, but bottom line is it works. Also I'm trying some modules that place content into custom tables making them invisible to the plugin based social bookmarking extensions. Once again, this one being a module instead of a plugin solved the problem for me. Nice work.

This little MOD is great, now every interactive site on the planet can Target your stuff.! way too cool.

3 Great points
- at the same time if you have accounts on other site you can get paid, with out having to do any other work, than signing up
- Does not make the site messy with large pictures
- This will generate hits to you site
