 A rotating image display module or slideshow / image carousel.
Set the image directory, image display size, delays between rotation and off you go!
ImageSlideShow also has the ability to have multiple copies of the slideshow on one page, a choice of sorting options and ability to link slideshow to another URL. In addition ISS can create resized copies of the images to use in the slideshow.
A Module Class Suffix can be specified. ISs does not require flash or any other component, plugin or module, it will work straight away with any standard Joomla! 1.5.x install.

That says it all... great little add-in that has a very nicely implemented fade through effect to present images in a module. Great for basic eye candy. Beats the heck out of Random Image :P module in standard Joom, and for the non-Flash endowed folk out there, a really simple way to get efficient and effective color and movement on the page.
Best used with a set of images tweaked specifically for this app to display - as it doesn't handle resizing or aspect very well, and has no built in options / parameters for centering or framing etc. If it had these, I'd give it the extra star.

This should be called the Simple ImageSlideShow... it is so easy to use and does what it promises, no fuss. I actually chose this instead of the Simple Image Rotator as that program had so many problems reported with the Joomla SEF.
This works great on my setup (Joomla 1.5.3 with SEF ON). Thanks for an excellent plugin. |

This has been the ticket for me for now...
It has the best fade function and rotation function.
I would recommend it for very small pictures or only a few pictures, as it loads every picture on the inital page landing, which can cause some serious loading issues.
I wouldn't recommend it for a rotating header if you need several large images... otherwise - it's awesome!

I used this module in place of the standard Random Image module that ships with Joomla! 1.5. Makes the site more dyanamic and now it doesn't require the user to refresh the page to see all the images in the particular gallery. T
This uses Ajax, not Flash to rotate images.

Works out of the box, adds 2 scripts to the page which makes it useless for NO-SCRIPT sites, and 1 additional html error,
Error: document type does not allow element "link" here.
If these errors are fixed its one of the better mods. |

Very simple to install (always a plus point for me) and it has better image quality than some other galleries I tried. It really made the difference to my site, changing it from a static looking frontpage to a real attention grabber. My only quibble is that, with a random selection, it always seems to start with the same picture. |
