A rotating image display module or slideshow / image carousel.
Set the image directory, image display size, delays between rotation and off you go!
ImageSlideShow also has the ability to have multiple copies of the slideshow on one page, a choice of sorting options and ability to link slideshow to another URL. In addition ISS can create resized copies of the images to use in the slideshow.
A Module Class Suffix can be specified. ISS does not require flash or any other component, plugin or module, it will work straight away with any standard Joomla! 1.5.x install.

This works great, but there are a few bugs that you can trip over.
It does not support search engine friendly urls.
It assumes that it is the only iframe on the page, but if it is the first iframe this does not seem to be a problem.

Just fabulous... by delilah, November 14, 2008

For a complete newbie this was dead easy to configure and works like a dream.
A couple of design tips for those using it as a header:
I have four pics on my header and created a module size equivalent to just one of them - it adds a bit of interest without being distracting with three pics being static and one changing.
As mentioned below, being able to recreate it and use it elsewhere also means that you can have different image banks for different sections of your site - fantastic if each section has a different focus.
Finally, keeping a picture underneath the module adds an interesting touch as it can just be seen as one image transitions to another.
This really is great!

Exellent. Highly configurable, yet simple by ylivalotus, November 11, 2008

I browsed the Joomla! Extensions in need for a simple plugin / module / whatever to display images. After reading several descriptions and reviews about a bunch of extensions I decided to give ImageSlideShow a try and I am very pleased with it!
ImageSlideShow is easy to set up and even easier to configure to meet your needs. That is, when you need a quick solution for displaying images within your Joomla! content.

Fantastic Module by Nomnom, October 19, 2008

This module makes for a gorgeous rotating header on my site. The ability to copy the module and use it elsewhere on the same page is great. The many options allow you significant control over the presentation, and even if you don't want to fiddle with them, the default controls produce fantastic results. Great work!

Echoing the other reviews, this module is excellently simple and effective. From download to implementation, approximately 5 minutes, including configuring the photos.

Just what I was looking for!!! by donlinebusiness, September 28, 2008

I did tried (spent more than hour) another image slider which was supposed to Rock. But it didn't work.
And this one (ImageSlideShow) was unbelievable. I meant after spending an hour on another similar extension I could not believe my luck when I got it working in minutes!!!
A beginner could not ask more. Thank you Briask!!
Though there is no end to human wishes, I have one for this ImageSlideShow. It will be a perfect Image slider, if can produce other effects too, like pushing, wiping, zooming etc. It will be just good to have. It still is a great work of yours (Briask), even without too many effects.

I took the time to register on Joomla just to send a review of this extension. Its fabulous and extremely easy to use. I actually had an issue with spacing and orientation in one of my module positions and literally within an hour Briask emailed me back with instructions and a screenshot on what to do and how to it, plus he/she wrote out the css for me.
If this mod ever goes to a full fledged gallery with subgalleries, etc, I'm first on line to spend what it takes to get it!

This module is easy to install and works without much hassle. It does exactly what is says it will do and provides a nice looking transition between images. Thanks!

Hooooray!
That's a pretty good extension. I installed with no problem, configuration was straight forward.
However, beware! Do not put the first "/" to indicate website root or it will hang. Just start with the first directory name (may be this is added by the script and writing it will put it twice, thus the error!).
I'd recommend!

I'm still fairly new to Joomla! (less than 3 months). This module installed with no issues and worked great. If you just want a revolving image with no bells and whistles, this really fits the bill.

Greets. I find this extension nice and simple doing what you want and not much else. It doesn't try to be big and fancy so you mustn't criticise it for it.
But what it does, it has to do well. Apparently you create a directory, put some pics inside and it creates a folder with thumbnails that it shows in the module. But then you need to add a pic to the directory and it seems you have to delete the thumbnails directory every time you do. To maintain a remote website this is very troublesome. Unfortunate that it has to work like that.

Super easy to install and configure! The module options are very simple and logical. It rotates between pics very smoothly AND it has no conflict that I can see with javascript libraries like some other modules do.
Someone mentioned that it only works well on very small images because it pre-loads all the images. I haven't experienced any problem with that. I'm using it to rotate (8) 960x200 header images (50k JPGs) and it loads em up quickly.
It is only possible to link all the images to one URL. Because of that, it's not suitable for rotating ads that link to various other sites. Not a big deal in my case.
Excellent job Briask!! Two thumbs up!

Installed ImageSlideShow in Joomla! 1.5.4 for multiple slidesahows on a website I am building. Worked in 1 go, no hick-ups , just functionality.
