Easy to use and outstanding support by PakWaan, May 16, 2007

This is very simple, easy to install, and works great. It also has several configuration options that it's competitors don't have, like the ability to have a "lightbox" which shows sample images from the different video clips you offer.

I had a few configuration challenges with my particular implementation, and the author was incredibly helpful getting my issues resolved. He even created a quick patch to make it work successfully for my needs.

I recommend this highly, not only because it's simple and works well, but because the author cares enough to help when he doesn't have to. Bravo!!

If you are looking to simply add some videos and animations on your website including Flash video? Want to Create pop-ups with image icons to click on? Want actually videos being handled just like images: Simply uploading them and adding a line of code to contents? And of course without fiddling around with complicated installation procedures? Just go ahead and install the two packages of MgMediaBot! You will most likely be as happy as I am now.

Great Plugin/Bot!!! by frazelle09, March 26, 2007
1 of 1 people find this review helpful:
Finally figured out how to get it Published. Even after i had downloaded it and Published it and started editing my News item, i found that the Plugin hadn't been "saved" as Published. Once i fixed that, it worked like a charm!

However it is pretty simple. The user has to click on each image in order for the next image to come up. i guess there is no way to automate the process. i use it to show pictures which have been put into swf (Flash). i like this because it uses less diskspace on my server!

Am very happy with this plugin. i hope the developer keeps working on it!

Have a great day! :)

Doesn't work in IE by jbensous, January 8, 2007
0 of 1 people find this review helpful:
This works great as long as the majority of your users don't use IE. In Firefox it works like a charm - in IE it is just a blank space... what gives?

Owner's reply:
This error comes in most cases from a invalid template, please use W3C Validator to check your page.

Simple to install.
Simple to use and works like a charm. What can you ask more?
Maybe a simple GUI to change the parameters when you embed a file?
Thanks for the good work.

Media Bot is Great by swan, December 20, 2006

What a great little Bot! Easy to use, easy to install. I do agree you need to make it only play if you want it too though. I wouldn't let that stop someone from using it though.

great plugin! by llacook, December 16, 2006

This REALLY beats a lot of the other mambots i've seen as far as managing media in content items...bravo!

MP3 support by mgoeben, October 22, 2006
1 of 1 people find this review helpful:
Hi!

Most people that complain about a problem with mgmediabot, are using the mp3 functionality, but this is only implemented to complete the list of mediafiles. So don't expect wonders, I think there are better mp3 players for joomla than mgmediabot.

The bot has some more problems, cause the mediaplayers are hardcoded and only detected by filetype. This would change in the next version.
The new mgmediabot, will not be only a bot, there would be a component, where you can manage your mediafiles and mediaplayers.
It will be able to:
- add your own mediaplayers (define parameters free)
- apply a mediaplayer to mediafile. (using free defined parameters mentioned above)
- generate mediafiles sets (playlists)
- some more features I'm thinking of

But this will take some time to release it, cause I'm writing it only for Joomla 1.5 and above, and most things are not written yet, and the 1.5 documentation is not as complete as I wish.

Regards

Marco

Great! by widen76, October 22, 2006
1 of 1 people find this review helpful:
Very nice! I had some problems at first, but it was because I forgot to publish the mambot! So, remember to publish. Otherwise it's working fine, very easy to use. For some reason playing from a playlist isn't the easiest, though able to play one song, the rest won't play, but I'll look into that and try to get hold of the author. Highly recommended!

problems w/linux server by magorico, October 20, 2006
0 of 1 people find this review helpful:
First of all thanks to the author for this wonderful bot!!!
I have 2 websites (1 Windows and 1 Linux) and I found out that in the windows website the bot works perfectly but in the linux one it doesn't works (xml file not found).
Same path and just one mp3 file, and it's not the CASE sensitive problem.
