Wonderful bot by Mever, September 12, 2006
1 of 1 people find this review helpful:
I have yet to use all features of this bot but have been using it for a couple of weeks with no trouble. Last comment I read today for this bot on capitalization trouble I feel is a function of UNIX not a bug, UNIX is case sensitive when it comes to files. Coding could be done to defeat this but opens the door for trouble with multiple files with the apparent same name but are really different because of the capitalization. Thanks to the author of this bot and I hope to test out more advanced features in the future. I’ll be upgrading to 0.1.0 today.

mgmediabot still has issues with creation of XML file by ebonyleg, September 12, 2006
2 of 2 people find this review helpful:
I have installed the mgmedia on my site, it manages to read and display all media files in a folder very well. However it is supposed to create an xml file playlist for the media player to parse and read from. It has a bug and fails to create this xml file. As a result to that, the media player will load but will have the error! "cannot fine the xml file" I went into the code and adjusted a variable to view player list but that did not work as well, I checked the folders for an xml file but could not find one. I then created an xml file on my own and the player was able to work. Another problem that exists or perharps is already fixed is the file extention error. For instance you must ensure that your file extension for mp3 as such are of lowercase. To the mgmedia the file 'file.mp3' is not the same as 'file.MP3'. I noticed that there was an attempt in the code to sort this out but it does not work all the time. I would suggest that instead of having the 'click here for play list' link. The developer could simply create a link directly to each media displayed. As i stand now...my mgmedia gallery is not working. However the insert media directly in content is superp and exceeds my expectations especially with streaming.
Conclusions it is good enough for what id does. but can be improved 4 out of 5 stars awarede

Owner's reply:
This message means only that there was a problem to find the mp3, please try mgmediabot2, it' a complet rewrite.

Great Bot, Pity about Register Globals by 72dpi, September 10, 2006
0 of 1 people find this review helpful:
Yup,
this WAS a nice bot. it used to work perfectly.
With no update, no forum and no-one seeming to mind, this is one bot that is in serious need of fixing.
I hope the developer or someone out there can fix this, it WAS brilliant. I look forward to this being resurrected. Simple to use, simple to setup.

Requires Register Global On by rfclift, August 21, 2006
0 of 1 people find this review helpful:
This is a nice extension, unfortunately, it requires Register Globals set to On in order to function.

Register Globals On is a security risk as discussed in the Security Forum. So, for those of us wit it turned off, it won;t work.

Also, for some reason when I played back an MP3 using this player (a radio interview), the voices sounded "chipmunky". The file plays fine on other players.

Cheers!

Rob

Great ! by baijianpeng, August 18, 2006

This is another great bot ! It even can play external URL if I insert the whole URL of the mp3 file ! So I need not upload those mp3 files to my server and waste spaces.

I use this bot to read book for visitors on my website.

couldn't get it to play... by nytxn, July 10, 2006
0 of 1 people find this review helpful:
It wouldn't play anything I linked it to. followed the parameters to a "T" and still nothing. Tried multiple different file types.

It showed up in the content fine, but wouldn't load the requested file.

Obvisouly I'm the weak link here... but... regardless, it wouldn't work for me and I couldn't figure out what was wrong.

Excellent by ptorning, July 1, 2006

It is easy to install and does what it claims to do.

Although use requires that you understand the parameters, it is not too hard.

Excellent.
