Virtual Newspaper Manager - RSS to Content
Virtual Newspaper Manager has been made for the main purpose of importing RSS content items and managing them in amounts, classifying them into categories automatically.

The classification is made depending on the news keywords, author, creation date, rss feed from which it belongs, etc. You can import news from every RSS feed you want, and what is more, you can convert those imported RSS news to Joomla articles or content items.
Download the component Virtual Newspaper Manager and visit the QUICK START GUIDE (http://jooglar.com/Quick-Start-Guide-Virtual-Newspaper-Manager.html) to start downloading contents to your site right now!!

Features:

1.- Import news from RSS feed to the component.
2.- Convert imported news to Joomla articles / content items.
3.- Create category tree, with nested levels.
4.- Create rules to classify imported content into categories.
5.- Create rules based on the next attributes:
News attributes-> title, text, author, rss category, publishing date. RSS feed attributes-> title, url, description, languag, copyright

For example, if you have a category titled "Football", it would be ok to create a rule associated on which you define the next requirements (this is a simple example):
News attributes
Title keywords: football,soccer,real madrid,raul,cristiano ronaldo [and more...]
Description: football,soccer,real madrid,raul,cristiano ronaldo, [and more...]
RSS feed attributes
Title keywords: football, soccer As you see, you can create from very simple to really complex rules and assign them to the categories.

The process is like this:
Add RSS feeds
----> Create rules and categories
---------> Import news from RSS
--------------> Classify imported news
-------------------> Display news on front end
--------- (optional) -----> Copy/Move news to Joomla articles

The One! by bgagan911, May 29, 2008
Believe me this is one module that everyone will be looking for. This module will actually bring out the "hidden dynamics", the true power of Joomla! in building dynamic websites. Today almost every site provide XML/RSS/ATOM feeds, moreover it's tedious for a single person to maintain website, keep feeding in the content. This is where VNM comes in.

The component is fresh both as development & idea. The "Quick start guide" is not exactly at what it says, you'll need to look into forums to actually get started. The support forum is quick & reliable. You can find answers to most of your questions there.

The major limitation of this module is it only captures the feeds and not the whole content. So you'll get only what's provided in the feed. That means if there's a synopsis or a simple 2 lines description about the module, you'll be getting that! don't expect any magic to happen. But if you try a bit hard, you may be able to find sites that also provide the whole content through feeds! So keep looking!

Thanks for a great component!

Believe me I tried to make the "Quick Start Guide" as simplest as I could, but the component needs a minimum knowledge to work with. :D

The limitation about capturing only the feeds is quite logical, because every site has its own format inside the HTML and the component should parse the code and find the content by itself. It's very difficult to achieve but, believe me, I have been thinking on how to do it for a long time. I am sure it will be implemented in future versions.
