Excellent piece of work! Easy to install and works without a hitch!

Wish list:
1. Text input box could have been bigger or better still, configurable in settings.
2. If the flashing could be reduced or eliminated entirely when set to auto-refresh.
3. If the smileys were on display and clickable.
4. If a sound can be played when a new shout is posted.

i like it because even gets some of the css from the template so i dont have to worry about how it will look like

the only downside of the template is that you cant give properties such as:

font color
font size
font style

Ok i dont know what is wrong with everything except this shoutbox.

-The editor say that requires registration to download. (i think no as i got it without registration)

Seems that the order is wrong and i dont know what is the latest release for real (anyway i got the 1.4)

Now about the shoutbox.
I tested ALL the free shoutboxs out there and i can say (always in my opinion) that this is THE SHOUTBOX.
Why?
Because it works! That simple.
In other shoutboxes that suppose to be major in the category , the visitor have to submit the message 3-4 times and if he is lucky is will get posted. Others are only for registered members and other dont have a 'name' field for unregistered .

Mosets Shout It! allow you to set:
width and high of the shoutbox
Name's Max Length
Message's Max Length
How many shout to display
Maximum Shouts to store
Banned words
Shouts' Ordering
Date Format
Guest name Prefix (if a user write John and you set guest name [Guest] then the name will be displayed as [Guest]John)
And many many more!!!

Just play some minutes with it :)
ALSO it has automatic smiles. If a user type lets say :) or :p then a smile will be added automatic.

I was almost ready to quit searching for a REALLY working shoutbox.

Very easy to install and works immediately. I just wonder if there's a chinese language module to allow users to shout in Chinese characters.

Simple to install, works reasonably well.
As an instant controllable communications tool it's ideal for small internal messages to members of a club but there are some minor irritations. Maybe I haven't set it up right, but when I choose the register option it comes up with a html not found error page. When clicking refresh, a screen comes up and there is no on screen back/home option, forcing the use of the browser back arrow.
All considered, still worth having

I tried almost all the chats listed here, and while some worked on my home server; they didn't work as well up on my hosts server. This was easy to install, is fast, and easy to configure. I did modify it a little because I did not like one feature. But over all I am sighing with relief. It has smilies, etc.....

One thing I would like to see is that the scrolling would not scroll up and cover up the area where the input text area is.
Currently I have to scroll to it and I don't like that. However all else works fine! Thanks!!

I went through all 3 pages of chat mods and loaded every free one. I didn't find any that both worked and stayed out of the way.. looked decent.. all that. I actually came back to this one, because the reviews didn't look that great. It was my last try.. and I'm pleasantly surprised!! I do like it! It gives the option of allowing posts from public/registered users. When logged in, it supplies your name automatically for your messages. I also like that you just go into the Components -> Magange Shouts to delete the posts anytime. IP is recorded too! Good stuff.

Cons: If you do require a user to login first, a message appears in the small window stating this, and then providing a link for them to 'Register Here', and it's a broken link. There shouldn't be a link at all. It already says 'You Must Be a Registered User to Shout'!

Still, unlike the rest.. easy install and works great!

You have to refresh the page to see new message, if setting autorefresh the whole module will flash every time refresh will start.

A great module and component. Very usefull. But I am looking for a new feature to wrap long words, specially long urls.

People continueing to post long urls and it breaks the inline frame. It will be good your module have a feature to auto wrap long urls.

This component is nice and simple. Installation was a breeze. It also works with older PHP servers.
It works like it says: type username and message and it displays the shout. Nothing fancy, nothing missing!
One minor thing: the background is set to white (not transparant), so that if your site's background isn't white, you'll see a white box with the shouts in it. Easy to change, but still.

I had installed your Shout it! component for Joomla on my website.

It is very good that it can work well with other component on my website such as the jd_Wordpress. I said so because other two modules of shoutbox did not work well with jd_wp and I had deleted them for ever from my hard disk.

I want to recommend this component to every one who is looking for a free, simple and powerful shoutbox component.It can even display utf-8 characters without error. See my website to confirm.

But I found something need to be improved.

1. the lenghth of the name input box and the message input box is not adjustable, so it looks a little longer and go outside the border of the module on my site. I hope you will allow users to adjust this in the settings page.

2. the Help and Powered by Mosets text is too large, I hope you can make it smaller. And it will be better if you only show the help text.

3. Now it is not easy to get bold, underline, italic or emotions. I hope you will add some small buttons just on top of the message input box.

Thank you for created such a great, and most importantly, free plug-in for Joomla. I love it !
