Joomla-phpBB forum bridge component
SUPPORT FOR COMMUNITY BUILDER This component is compatible with Joomla 1.0.13, Joomla 1.5 and CB 1.1 already! phpBB 3 is not supported. JoomPhpBB bridge is the complete solution to connect Joomla to phpBB forum. Please, note that we can't guarantee working of our bridge with any 3-rd party mod installed on the forum. It provides almost full synchronization between the Joomla and forum profiles with Community builder support without any changes of core files. Imagine how easily you can install our component to your Joomla site, how easily you can upgrade it and how easily you can install any other 3rd party components because of no core files changes! Forum and site must be on the same domain. You can use the forum in a usual way or wrap it in the Joomla as a component and browse the forum without reloading of a page. Features: * No changes of Joomla's and phpBB's core files required - easy to install and upgrade the system * Management of forum configuration and forum users in Joomla admin panel * Transferring users between Joomla and phpBB with preserving their profile data including CB avatars * Full support of Community Builder (additional CB plugin installation required), ability to assign CB profile fields to the forum ones, synchronizing of avatars, Forum tab in the CB profile * Wrapping the forum in Joomla as a component and browsing the forum without the reloading of a page (a little (~1 minute) phpBB template changes required) Various advanced synchronization options * Log user in phpBB when logged in Joomla * Log out user in phpBB when logged out in Joomla * Auto register Joomla user in forum when log in Joomla * Change phpBB profile when changing in Joomla * Change phpBB password when lost in Joomla * Check phpBB for duplicate users before Joomla registration * Open new private messages pop-up window when log in Joomla * Log user in Joomla when log in phpBB * Log out user in Joomla when log out in phpBB * Auto register phpBB user in Joomla when logged in phpBB * Change Joomla profile when changing in phpBB (except linked to off-site avatars of phpBB)

The best solution out there... by WebTrooper, April 27, 2008

In my humble opinion, phpBB2 is the best free forum available. With this bridge I'm able to connect my forum, website and Community Builder profiles together, and even thumbnail avatars in their posts. Easy to install and if you run into any problems, they are quick and responsive in their support forums. I also purchased the Latest Posts module, which I haven't installed yet but I feel cofident that it will work equally well. If you want to bridge Joomla and phpBB2, this is the best solution you will find.
