I install on my site... I install a external module. On Joomlaxplorer I can`t change the chmod permissions, but with NinjaXplorer, I can do it!
Great work ninjaforge!

| Doesn't do what it should by tekyn, September 8, 2008 |

I would expect that a File Management component claiming to be Joomla 1.5 Native supports the built-in Joomla 1.5 FTP file access system. Nope.
Furthermore, this component claims to be a fork of the JoomlaXplorer component (which I have used for years and love), but it doesn't have one of the critical features of JoomlaXplorer -- the built-in FTP file access. Nope.
Since this component fails on two rather obvious assumptions, it also fails to meet my needs (and presumably, the needs of many other admins). The whole point of a File Management component is to let you manage your files within Joomla. Unfortunately, without the FTP layer this isn't possible on almost any server, unless you have thrown security to the wind.

NinjaExplorer works for Joomla 1.5.6 on Mac OSX 10.4.11 with Firefox 3.0.1
JoomlaExplorer needs the Legacy plugin turned on. Legacy extensions have never worked for me, but I need this capability, so I tried it one more time. It installed and opened, but then the very top menu froze. Had to use browser nav to get back to admin home.
Qui and Ext both install okay, but when selected returned server errors. JE and Ext were both grayed out in the components menu.
NinjaExplorer installed without any problems, it opens and it works. I am very happy with it.

After trying eXtplorer and getting some error "ExtJS library not found", and then trying to find any support for extplorer, I finally gave up.
I then tried Quixplorer and ran into a server error. I didn't even bother looking for a solution, after killing an hour trying to troubleshoot extplorer.
Instead, I figured it would be quicker to try another component first. Bam.... NinjaXplorer installed, and wow, it works.
I haven't checked all functions with it yet (that's why I didn't give it an excellent rating). But just being the only file manager that installed prompted a review.

This plugin worked like a charm until one day it though the root folder was the joomla admin folder, and thus becoming useless. Uninstalling and installing it again doesn't help.
The developer didn't answer my call for help, any idea? Owner's reply: Hi gsmets,
perhaps you could drop me a new message in the forums, i am afraid i may have missed your request.

Every other file manager I tried had some bigger or smaller cons. This one is okay and works like a charm.
