The “Warnenas PngFix” Plungin fix the PNG transparency problem in IE 5.5+ Simle plugin for Joomla! 1.5.x , just install and make it published Enjoy.

Problems with IE7 by okanime, July 5, 2008

This worked for ie6 for me. When I tried it on IE7 it gave an error "could not load website" after clearing my cache and refreshing sometimes it will load the page but even when it loads the pngs get soooo distorted like the pdf, email and print icons become like 5 times the original size. Then I noticed that some of the pngs in the actual article is disappeared.

I hope the author can fix these probs soon.

One of my greatest frustrations in web design is that I have found very few png fixes that actually work. This one acutally works ... until you check ie7. The png's are still transparent, but everything image gets badly distorted.

I've not rated this extension because it looks like it could be great if the ie7 issue gets worked out, and I don't want to give it a bad name.

worked for my problem on IE not allowing png logo with transparency; thanks to the author !

I recommend the author to include in the documentation (he may be doing) a tip for users that after the install you must activate the plugin and clear the IE cache (off line content), but thats really obvious isnt it ??

Plug in seems to work fine but I'm getting errors in the apache error.log like this:

[Tue May 13 11:53:17 2008] [error] [client 172.24.5.50] File does not exist: /var/www/administrator/plugins, referer: http://xxxxxxx/administrator/index.php

No really much of a problem but would be nice to get rid of them.

this extension is based on the workaround at:

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/bobosola/pnginfo.htm

which does not work on background png.

Also, it appears that there is no english version. translation is needed, it is not possible to translate from Lithuanian.

In new version of plugin I have add a background PNG tranparency.

Installed, activated and it worked. What more can I say, PNG wasn't working properly on old IE, installed this and now it does.

Very useful extension.
