Downloaded both the plugin and the component for Joomla! 1.5, installed and did not had to make any configurations. This upload plugin works like a charm!

My recommendations and thanks to the developer for a great plugin.

One if not the best plugin for web-file-sharing. I'm currently using it on an academic site for document sharing and it's great. I love what the author has done with the permission and the interface is very user-friendly. Totally worthed.
