Nice but one issue evident by rjcarey, March 10, 2007

This component is attractive and seems to have most functionality covered. The code seems very competant and in few files. Tarheit on the 25th Jan 2007 (in a review here)made the comment that the 'categories drop down box' would not function and he fixed it. Alas he didn't say how ! A fix for that would be nice, but otherwise this is good stuff and the author is generously giving it for free.

Front End Editing problems by tarheit, January 25, 2007

This is really a nice recipe component, except for one significant issue. Submission of recipes on the front end doesn't really work. First it wouldn't list the categories (which I fixed), but then it insisted on uploading an image, but it always fails. (Others have run into the same problems as noted in the joomla forums, with no solution as of yet.) Entry of recipes in the backend works well, with or without an image.

Recipes need to be validated by Caramon, January 13, 2007

For some reason each recipe added, after been approved keeps saying: "recipes pending, waiting for approve by an admin", and doesnt show. Even when we set it to not require to be approved.
From what I see from the demo site, this component looks very nice. But there, I cant test it to add new recipes either.

Would be better if... by MetalHellsAngel, December 28, 2006

It does exactly what it says. But I think it could be better with a search bot added, as well as a few modules such as recent recipe's and top recipes. Other that that it's a pretty good component

This is a nice little component for recipes. I had it running in ten minutes. Super job!

Very good component by mcederholm, October 29, 2006

This is a very good component, that not only gives good functionality but also displays it in a neat design that gives a professional feeling to the site.
I would like to see a few fixes though. I would like to be able to change some of the information boxes. I see no point in having information about Author or date, and since I run a vegetarian recipe site, I would like the Vegetarian box to be an option. Besides these minor issues, It is very good.
I can highly recommend this component.

Great Potential by KevnH, March 24, 2006

Works out of the box as long as I use an image with the recipe. Saving the recipe directions without an image uploaded results in a page that says invalid filename. This is the case in the frontend or the backend. Also, in the backend I have seen no way to upload an image through the component. If every user has an image read it works great. Once this bug is killed it should be a wonderful addition to a site.

I installed it configured it and tried it, and although it looks really good its missing the instructions and notes sections. Which if you didnt know are relatively important areas for recipes. I think its a great component if only i could get it to work. Any ideas?
