This is the first thing I install when starting any Joomla site and I'm surprised that the quick fixes used in this patch aren't already encorporated into the default Joomla install.
A must for SEO on any site. This patch and openSEF make a killer team! :)

The missing extension by Addy, May 18, 2006

I always wondered why this extension wasn't in the original Joomla version. How could we have lived without it for so long? This extension makes your page found on the web and solves a couple of HTML issues. It's small, easy to use and well documented. I'll keep my eye tuned to Joomlatwork, because they also seem to have an auction module which looks pretty nifty! So in short, Joomla team, implement this extension in the Joomla Core! Great work Joomlatwork Team!

Should be part of Core... by BillyS, May 8, 2006

Finally someone fixed perhaps the single biggest problem with Joomla from a SEO standpoint. I have 17 categories in 3 sections all running on the homeat the same time (1,000 articles in total). My home page had 42 keywords, some of which were repeated up to 7 times. That has to look like spam, but that's how Joomla works - until now.
I can put the correct meta tags on some of the most important sections of my site. Worked right the first time with no problems at all.
A big THANK YOU to the developers of this extension.

Fantastic! by slimtreeshadow, April 20, 2006

This tool is fabulous. It should certainly be integrated into the default Joomla installation.
I have a site I'm developing that contains extensive archives of an email discussion list (led-digest.com). There will be archives of complete issues, as well as indexed archives threaded by topic. This will result in duplicate content, and google no like that.
With this tool, I'm able to specifically exclude my duplicates. This has the benefit of offering the resource for users without estranging myself from google.
Fantastic work - this patch is a must. Thank you!

I've been spending a lot of money and time recently on getting SEO advice and help for my site. I am currently on Mambo 4.5.3 'Live - but have the Joomla version mirroring and virtually ready to roll. My SEO company were quick to critisise Joomla and Mambo for not being able to add specific page titles and meta data for all content pages. (which was turning into a major cost and headache for me)
This patch works a treat. Not only does it work - the support I got from the joomlatwork team was exceptional - went the extra mile to help me to understand how it works and what it does. Even more determined to switch to Joomla! asap. I'm looking forward speaking to my SEO team on Thursday.
Kind regards
Steve

Great Add On by Nictech, April 15, 2006

Installed the patch on 1.0.7 with no problems. Just what I needed to to control titles and tags for search engine purposes. This tool adds more control to the administrator to control several issues.
Have a small glitch somewhere with frontpage content dissapearing when Open SEF is turned on, but works perfectly on all other pages with several mods.
An email request for help was answered promtly by the developer to help with this issue and it appears to be unique to my site as others are having no problems running the patch with Open sef.

Great extension! These sure now what SEO is in relation to Joomla.
I've no problems with installing the files as in the review below. It looks to me that it has something to do with file permission...
Thanks this is a feature that I needed for Joomla!

I tried to install the component and got the errors:

I then tried to restore using the redo files and still receive the same errors.
I'm now having to restore from backup files.
