This modules allows for publishing content items or articles in areas other than mainBody(). Choose if you want to display a single item, all items from a category, all items from a section, or a number of content items/categories/sections specified by a comma separated list of ids. Simply enter the content item ID in the module's parameters field, assign a position to the module, and publish it. You can copy the module and assign a different name, position and contentitem id to the copy. Also includeds a "Read more" link option. With the "merge items" option you can merge multiple content items (/categories/sections) into one document for print and pdf. (Forum: http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=36326, but please ask questions on my blog)
By now there is also a version for 1.5 (native), I would be glad for some feedback. The 1.5 version does not yet include the "merge items" option.
Download Links are in the sidebar of my homepage ("Content Item Module" or "Module for 1.5" respectively).

| Does exactly what I need it to by ChiaLynn, April 10, 2007 |

I'm using this to publish random content items to my front page, and to present the content of my "shop" page, and it does those things perfectly. The only thing I might ask for is the ability to choose whether, when one of the articles on the front page is selected, it replaces the "Front Page" content on the home page, or takes the user to the content item page.

I was wandering round Joomla trying to find out how to get the latest articles in a certain section to appear automatically on the front page of my Web site - no such luck, but then I found this module - just what I needed!

| Very good.. but missing one thing. by vagrantweb, March 6, 2007 |

This is really a great module and does *almost* exactly what I want it to. The configuration is very easy to accomodate various displays. However... there really needs to be a way to adjust the Itemid= to a set number or at least not to use the Itemid of the page the module is on. As the "read more" links use the Itemid of the page the module is on, it's impossible to display the pages properly. If someone has a solution to this, please contact me.

I'm glad to be able to move content to any module position rather than being stuck with where the main body goes. You could literally get rid of the main body in your template and use copies of this module to put content anywhere...

I needed a module to display news without spoilers on my website. I tested all modules that where listed but this one is the only one that display's the items the same way the joomla frontpage component does... and that was just what i needed.
So if you need a second frontpage like thing, use this wonderful module...

This certainly is something that you would think would be included in a pre-existing Joomla module. I am using it to display the last post in a category for blog posts.

This module does an excellent job at providing a feature that one would think would be built in to Joomla but is not.
This module displays items you choose, how you choose, where you choose. A specific content item can be chosen by ID, multiple IDs can be chosen, or the module can dynamically show items from a chosen section or category based on your parameters. You can indicate how many items you want, how many columns to display, and the ordering of the items. I, for example, want my homepage to show the most recent review, followed by the most recent article, followed by the most recent news. I don't want just links to them, as the built-in "Latest News" module shows, but rather the title and intro paragraph. And.... this module does exactly that.
Awesome!

I needed a simple little mod to put some static content on on certain pages at the top of my page, and in certain mod positions. I could have achieved this simply by creating a new mod and typing my content into it, but this module does that one thing I couldn't find elsewhere. Allow me to put the edit content button on the item. So now, I have the content on my frontpage and it can be edited by the publishers, and it works with joomfish... I love it.. Nice and simple.. no problems... thanx for this.

You can take advantage of this module ANYWAY to want since you can put content basically anywhere. I've used it for many things and it's really helped me out a lot! Thanks.
