This modules allows for publishing content items or articles in areas other than mainBody(). Choose if you want to display a single item, all items from a category, all items from a section, or a number of content items/categories/sections specified by a comma separated list of ids. Simply enter the content item ID in the module's parameters field, assign a position to the module, and publish it. You can copy the module and assign a different name, position and contentitem id to the copy. Also includeds a "Read more" link option. With the "merge items" option you can merge multiple content items (/categories/sections) into one document for print and pdf. (Forum: http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=36326, but please ask questions on my blog)
By now there is also a version for 1.5 (native), I would be glad for some feedback. The 1.5 version does not yet include the "merge items" option.
Download Links are in the sidebar of my homepage ("Content Item Module" or "Module for 1.5" respectively).

You can take advantage of this module ANYWAY to want since you can put content basically anywhere. I've used it for many things and it's really helped me out a lot! Thanks.

very useful, but a couple of issues by thingwarbler, October 11, 2006

Very effective little widget, but it may screw up some mambot content (e.g. doesn't seem to play nice with multithumbs). Also would be nice if it could be set to check for homepage publication of content items (i.e. mimmick com_frontpage more closely, but in a user-defined location).

Nifty little module by TtfnJohn, September 13, 2006

This is a neat little thing that does what it says it does, simply and easily. Very nice for what I needed to do with it.
Congratulations.
And, oh, by the way. They don't charge, they don't track a license (no one I know tracks the GPL) and it doesn't require any additional software.

This is a great little module. Been wanting something like this for a long time. Easy setup, works great, solves many content management problems when you have a more robust design. Thanks, and great work!

I had none of the problems listed below. I plugged it in and it worked right away.
This module is fantastic. You can display content in any area with ease, so if you have a multi-column layout and you want to have a text item in the right column rather than the main column, this module does the trick.
Thanks a lot!

Re: News items not showing by eike, May 23, 2006

New items will show eventually, there is just a bug with the server offset time in my query that I seem unable to correct, no matter what I do I end up with the wrong time offset. So new Items will show, but a few hours after the publishing date set in the parameters. I hope I'll be able to fix this some time.

As already noted this is not 'dynamic' as in refreshing with new material as it is added, if only it could do that it would be brilliant.

New content items do not show by Simen, May 4, 2006

Hello and thank you for spending time developing great stuff.
There is a problem, though. The Content Item Module only show content items that are pre-installed in Joomla!, so no new items are displayed.

I was getting real frustrated about not being able to make content appear in some of the places I needed it, and then I stumbled across this little beauty. We're not talking about adding major functionality to Joomla, but it sure does keep Joomla working for me instead of me working for Joomla. (And it looks like I'm not the only one with this need either!) Cheers!
