 A simple and robust horizontal news ticker module built for Joomla 1.5 to grab your article titles and fade them nicely from one to the next. The Amplify News Ticker Module features include: Mootools Driven, Adjustable Pretext, Adjustable Pretext Box Length, Adjustable Article Title Box Length, Choose Number of items to show, Choose which Section to pull items in from, Choose which Category to pull items in from, Adjustable default message when no items are available, Module Suffix Box for custom module styling, Module CSS sheet.
UPDATE: 5th June 2008 - Fixed issues some users were having with error on certain menu links, updated CSS, update to only show latest items desc from sec tion or category rather than all items.
UPDATE: 11th June 2008 - Fixed issue with module picking up unpublished items, New download now available at Amplify.

Download to install was less than 5 minutes configureation was under 10 Minutes and this was merely slowed down by the level of content I greedly wanted to display!
Absolutly does what it says on the tin it's a very good example of intutive design in the backend where everything is as expected. |

Very nice ticker, beautiful effect.
I only notice an overlapping problem with firefox. After the first loop news fading-in/out tend to loose sync, so you can see two or more news toghether. Owner's reply: Hello, this will be a conflict with some other scripts (modules etc) running javascript on your site. If you use the default 1.5 install and template, you will see it works fine on all available versions of Firefox, including FF3.

It does what it says and it does not add extra javascripts, it uses the J 1.5 mootools. |

Hi,
this is one of my favorite modules.
just some suggestions for improvement (didn't find a forum to post them): articles are shown although they were deleted, not activated and even if publishing time is over. and if you choose a section and category with no articles in it, the default message won't be shown. Owner's reply: Hello, Module has been updated to address the unpublished issues, default message issue will be fixed today also.

..it does not pull out the latest news properly. It just pulls out all news out of the selected category/section. Owner's reply: Hello, Thank you for your comments, please note that as of today we have adjusted the module so it only picks up the latest items in sections and categories, to the number of your choice.

Module installed correctly and has all the functions that I require.I have been looking for a headline ticker like this for 1.5 and it works as it says out of the box.
This news ticker is very similar to the one they use on the apple website and I guess it has been designed to be a replica of this. I like and recommend this module by Amplify.
When I tested, the javascript handler code does not seem to validate, but the maker has made nice use of including the stylesheet into the head of the document without manual editing.
