D4J Content Listing Module
* D4J Content Listing is the universal module for content presentation. Truly speaking it can represent the “mainbody” in the module context. * From the data point of view you can select content from both Joomla content structure Section/Category/Item and Joomla newsfeeds component. More over you can sort the selected items in the order you want and only after that present them. * From the visual presentation point of view you can set the module to display titles, intro text, intro text with images, read more button and more. You can even set the limitation for the number of characters and the number of words to be represented. * The bottom line is if you want to present maximum content in module’s positions, this module can provide all means for that purpose.

Very helpful. by Psystar, March 13, 2008
I was looking for the capability within Joomla! to display multiple articles/sections/categories on a single page and was very disappointed with the functionality (or lack thereof) I found in Joomla!

I had been very close to throwing in the towel and writing something custom when I stumbled upon this module. It does everything I need it to and then some. Installation and setup were painless and after a bit of CSS manipulation it was looking great.

Thanks for creating this great module.

Multiple columns not working in IE by softnayr, August 13, 2007
this is a good module but when i used 2 or more columns, it only displays one column in internet explorer....

very good ! by baijianpeng, August 3, 2007
Today I want to find a module to display article summaries from different catogeries on different positions at frontend. I tried dozens of modules and found that ONLY this one can do it.

Only this module can be copied and assigned to different module positions. It's cool!

Excellent Addition by Karn Edge, February 15, 2007

The has to be one of my favorite modules of all. I like not having to use Main Text at all, with this module I can display my content with automated intro and read more links.

However, at the moment I have a few problems with the module: (1) I can't display anything that is in "mosMainBody()" if I have this module above it, (2) It will cut off coding and appear broken, and (3) Not all mambots will work, like my comment system is suppose to have a link by read more for how many comments there are.

Other than that, It's great!

Love It by mintie_gal, December 20, 2006
It is a perfect module for the frontpage if you want to show a more a in depth news with image.

Easy installation, easy configuration, clean and simple look.

You can choose whether you want just intro text or the whole artical, to add or not add read more links and can specify which categories or sections or individual page to show in many different order (newest first, most popular, etc)

"Read more" problem... by winuser, September 27, 2006
This is generally a good extension that can be used in place of the news flash module, for instance. I am currently using two instances of D4J on the frontpage: one to display a random news bulletin and another to display a random article.

One small but annoying problem is that the optional "Read more" feature doesn't depend on whether there is anything more to read. On short content that consists only of intro text, the "Read more" link is generated nonetheless. Thus, D4J needs to be a bit more aware of the content that it is listing.

Fantastic Module for displaying content on frontpage by ianwork, August 2, 2006

A great module I found for displaying a selection of content items on the frontpage. Either manually chose content IDs or chose Content Category ID or Content Section ID to display items from that one.

Very good module if you have different areas of your website and you want to display a few of each under their own Headings rather than how to frontpage manager lumps them all under the 'Welcome to the Frontpage' heading.

For example you could have 3 categories like Movies, Music and Articles. You would then make 3 copies of the module maybe called Latest Movies, Latest Music and Latest Articles published to the homepage and have each one display however many you want under each Module.

The Word Count/Character Count is another great feature as you can have each article display the same amount of content rather than needing to worry about splitting content into Intro Text and Main Text.

Just make sure that it doesn't cut off half way through an image tag otherwise the image will appear broken.
For example:
Some text before an image, then some html

Need more display style by jilong, June 16, 2006
this really great, but if it able to select style in table , horizontal and vertical will more prefect.

Great module - thanks ! by qantixrob, June 15, 2006
We needed to create home and other pages with 1) complex layout arrangements and 2) content grabbed from multiple sections and categories, to be displayed in the main body area. This module allows us to do that. The support has been helpful as well. Only used lite version so far but will definitely be buying! They are introducing the concept of 'topics' in a later version which will be even better!

Uses Tables for Layout by starclass, June 2, 2006
Great module except for the fact that it uses tables for layout.

Needs more flexibilities by lionel28, May 31, 2006
This is a cool little module. I wish there was an option for it to auto select the section that is being navigated, therefore displaying the titles within that section.

i have this error when i use it in my site:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in ./modules/mod_d4j_content_listing.php on line 144

Realy cool module, just like anything from D4J by groovesonic, March 30, 2006
One thing I didn't like joomla is that by default it has no means to display content in news items style on side columns. I mean Title, intro text with image and "Read more" button. But now, this module has fit this gap 100%. I'm really happy that found this module. And... I love Joomla more now. :)

A "Must Have" if you are doing Joomla! by raoult, March 24, 2006
This module is great. It allows you a level of flexibility previously only available by hacking around. Combined with a number of "hidden if not filled" module positions, it allows you to break out of the "frontpage monotony" that plagues many Joomla! sites. If you don't have it, get it now.
