With the release of our free Joomla Author Pages component, you have a cool new way of showcasing your authors . Give you authors their own page with their Photo & information. Shows Latest & archived articles by the author as per configuration in backend. Comes with Component to create Author Pages & a mambot (Plugin) to link Author Names to their pages. A 5-star Component!

I loved it!
Really really handy and fills a forgotten void.

1- I just wish there were a small search engine in the author pages so that vistors can look for a certain author.

2- I also hope to see a way to show a "box" in the end of the article that shows the photo of the author the bio, and a link to his full page, where the list of the articles appear.

But all in all, a 5-star job. :)

Thanks a ton for the review.
& your suggestion for the 'Author Box' Plug in is really a good feature request. We'll build a plugin that can do that ASAP. But our first priority is to roll out 1.5 compatible extensions once thats done this one feature request is on the top of this list for this extension.
About the search thats also a nice idea.

Very usefull, lacking in Joomla

This was always lacking in Joomla, now you can dynamically display your authors. It's true, you have to look for the database prefix if you have a custom one, but that was fixed easily.
Remember also to move the css, as it's now in the body wich is non XHTML compliant.

Wishlist:
- ordering of the authors (if you want authors to be listed alphabetically, you have to enter them alphabetically into the composant. This is no problem, but if new authors come, then it becomes one)
- make the author images optional, had to hardcode this out of the Frontend for a scientific site, but I'm still compulsed to upload one in the Backend.
- a patch for SEO would be nice, the composant keeps on working but with standard Joomla urls (I use ARTIO Joomsef)

First, I discovered that it has the standard jom_ database prefix hardcoded in. We do not use that prefix as an extra security measure. I went in and tried to edit to our prefix wherever I could find it, but it still would not successfully install. Oh well, somedays you eat the bear...

I gave this two stars because it still has promise down the road, as the developer matures this package.

I look forward to that. It is really something we can use.

Hi there Tandys sorry about the jos_ prefix goof up on our part. This has been addressed in the bug fix release which will be out in 2 Days. I am glad you like the concept & thanks for the feedback.
