I just installed the component to see how it's working as I am looking for a pedigree software for a long time now. But, a pedigree for a horse has to look a bit different and a lot of the information will not be needed. Is there any way, plan etc. to make this kind of layout to see the breeding history? I even would pay for it :D

*I've located the code to what the response above may be referencing in the admin/../form.php and I will be updating the component to move that specific JTEXT into the language.ini in the next release - v1.3 planned for Oct '08.

Well, i searched for component like this for a long time.
JoomPedigrees really do that he offer, but...i don't lake that JoomPedigrees have many things hardcoded, like species or series. I needed to manually rewrite parts od code to make this component compatible with cavia farm.
I think that this hardcoded parts should be or splited to editable files, or maked configurable

Hi! And Thank you for your interest in this component!
I'm confused as to what you are saying is "hardcoded". If you want to change the text fields simply open the languages/joompedigrees.ini for front end and administrator/languages/joompedigree.ini for back end and change all of the form's text at will.
For example, to change species and series find the lines in the ini
original code:
SPECIES=Species
SERIES=Series
changed code:
SPECIES=Breed
SERIES=
save and return the file to server. Wiping out the text as shown above, after the equal sign, will give you a blank.
