We use RSTickets for an in-house employee website, to send requests to maintenance and IT departments. Works like a charm and makes for better organization of their work day. Install and use is a breeze, simple enough for employees to log in and submit tickets. Thanks for a great component!

Great component. Does exactly what it says and more. Really helped me setup a support ticketing website.
Support by their team is great. Longest wait for a response is if it is on a weekend or else you get it back i a matter of minutes

I use a LOT of Joomla components. I've modified countless components, dealt with forms, tech support, you name it.

When it comes to Helpdesk apps, this one takes the cake, no question. Especially with the ability to 'suck in' tickets that were e-mailed rather than submitted through a Web interface, this component is a winner.

I've tried just about every Helpdesk option available for Joomla, and this one is worth spending money on.

Also, the support is great. Especially when you spend a lot of time troubleshooting and rooting around forums, it's SO worth the small investment to be able to just send the developer an e-mail and get any issues resolved.

Support these guys that build us great apps! :)
This component was simple to install on Joomla 1.5.8 and worked great right from the start!

Had a question about the configuration and Alex, the developer, responded immediately.

This component has the ability to easily add extra fields to really customize your tickets based on your products or services. I love this feature!

We are a small company and this component is perfect for our needs.

If you are a larger company it should also work well for you, with the capability to expand Departments and Staff.

I have not tried the Cron plugin yet.

Well done guys! Great component.

I've tested other components and open souce (not J! integrated) solutions but RStickets! is the one that fits our needs.
Not a CRM like solution, nor a complex multichannel with hundreds of parameters you can set up.

RStickets! is totally J! complaint (we've test it on 1.5.8) with good and usefull integrations with registration.

This component is excellent both for small companies (no divisions, no dedicated staff) or complex organizations (where you need to give diffrent roles and permissions to user for different kind of tickets).

You can start up you customer support service in a while without drop even just one line of code.
You can download a free trial and test every feature and function then if you are satisfied all you need to do is to purchase a code, you don't need to re-install, re-configure anything.

The price is fair and above all the customer support is very good: they give quick answer also to "free" user.
Try it! It's another way to test the component as a.. customer.

I still have to test Cron plugin. If I ever do.. I'll be back with new review
Overall, I think this is a good product. However, it is not well documented and I've spent weeks trying to figure out things. I would recommend it, but there are just things I feel are important to be aware of before spending your money. If you want a basic support system, this one is wonderful. The Cron Plugin is where I went wrong. The idea behind the plugin is for customers to be able to send emails to a specific address and a ticket be created automatically. Well this works fine until they send it with an attachment. Attachments are not supported as of now. However if customers submit a ticket from your website, attachments are fine. So for me, I lost money on purchasing the additional plugin because my customers need to be able to send attachments as well. Now I have decisions to make. These are things that should be known up front.

It's what I will need, and the support has been excellent, too, although I'm still using the trial version. It's me that need to work on my PHP more in order that I can make it do what I want later. Now, I'm using it on my personal computer. Thank you.

This is a simple Help Desk component by simple I mean it simple to setup and uses, it does exactly that it says it will do and for the price it’s a winner. What’s more you can get a useful plug in which allows you to poll an email account (POP3 or IMAP) collect the email and automatically create a ticket for you. This facility is missing in so many help desks.
I have been looking for a ticket solution to use with Joomla for a long time and have tried a number some are just too complicated or too expensive but I have found RSTicket was just the ticket for me.
Why then have I not given it ‘excellent’ well RSticket has made a good start with some very good facilities at a very good price! But there is some work to do I would like to see a simply way to change the email sent to clients. Also the facility to have a list of stranded responses which you could drop in to the reply would be useful.
I have also for the support to be very helpful.
Great component. It has all i need for my website. I recommend this product to anyone !
Many features are now available since i first tested the product. They have:
- record user information (ip address, browser). this is good for geo tracking.
- custom fields with departments. i can set required fields to and with defined values.
- captcha i can customize
- plugin that records emails from an external email address
- many many group options

RStickets! is fascinating. I've been searching for a ticketing system solution for Joomla! but nothing I found was this advanced... great support also, I've been in touch with the developers and they helped me with every little aspect.

Awesome product with bugs fixed. Easy to use and dynamic enough for most ticket system requirements that I need.

Love the option to add additional fields to forms. Would like further enhancements to it, such as be able to designate where the field will be placed in the form. Maybe I just haven't figured it out.

Would like to be able to move "Departments" up and down. So I can at least create Departments in alphabetical order if I choose to.

Cron Plugin is still in infant state I think, would like the ability for it to auto update the ticket when responding via email. May or may not be possible. Just something to think about.

Service support is excellent.

Bottomline, this has an unlimited potential. I want to be able to use this product for customers to submit lost/stolen property (incident reports) using some of these field requirements.

Name fields
Witness fields
Contact fields
Location fields (site, building, campus addresses or numbers)
Reported date (calender start date & end date)
Descriptions fields
Agencies Involved (Police, Fire Department, EMS etc.)
Report #
(most of these options fields are available to use)

What is lacking (and the only thing stopping me from implementing an Incident Report tool for my customers) are:

There is no metrics tracking options(graphics, trends, reports etc.) This would help management get good overview of customer satisfaction trends, trouble trends, other trends etc. Most of you probably know what I'm talking about, so I won't go any further.

This should by no means be considered a negative against the product. I understand this was never intended for such use. But I also believe that a product can fulfill these needs, and will eventually fill a market gap for small businesses, such as myself. For large enterprise companies, this would not work, they would still need an enterprise (expensive) software product.

If this feature is ever available, I would, without out hesitation, repurchase (or purchase), or even donate to this project.

Component seems to do what it claims to, however when I digged into the code I didn't believe what I saw! The code nearly uses nothing about the Joomla! framework. It even uses its own database adapter rather than using Joomla's. IMHO, there are many security vulnerabilities such as using environment variables directly without filtering them out prior to use (like $_GET['x']).

I tried to add a ticket in Turkish, however it cut the text right after the first Turkish character.

For people who is planning to use in English it may be used however for others no.

The code is not poor. The product runs smoothly on J1.5 AND on J1.0.That's the idea of the db adapter. Next year when J1.0 won't be supported, you'll see the 1.5 code, don't worry.

Your db was not set on UTF8, that's why you have language problems.Read the doc, if you don't know how charset works. as for security, RStickets! is bullet proof.

GET variables are filtered using cleaning functions.I don't understand why bad rating on a product that does it's job flawlessly.

RStickets does everything it all! It's the solution I was looking for and more! I have looked at other ticketing systems for Joomla and I have found RStickets to be the most complete and most valuable one.

Customer service is amazing! They respond very quickly to any inquiries and are supportive, kind and professional.

I recommend this product to anyone in search of a stable, feature-rich ticketing system!

Great product... it has it all:

- documentation - good description of the product, gives a general overview of the product
- looks - easy to style it
- support - fast respons time, max 24 hour you will get a response to your problem
- customizable - you can add and remove fields, specific to your needs
- configurable permissions - viewing, access and others

Personally i am using the Cron plugin also... it's a great addition to RStickets!'s functionality.

This product just made my life easier! I definitely recommend it!

I can't say more than the other reviewers. Through the evaluation process and into implementation, the install went smooth. The few issues that did come up have been taken care of in a quick manner.

The product is young, but stable and has tremendous growth potential.
I have evaluated a number of systems to use with my Virtual PC Support Company and by far RSTickets was the best. I needed to add a calendar and time submission component to the system and their support group provided me with a solution within 24 hours.

I highly recommend this helpdesk system it's a must have if you need to have an online Helpdesk

I have started my Joomla experience less than a month ago setting up a web page for an not-for-profit association. Looking for a Help Desk to involve our community I found RSTicket. I tried it and installed it without any problems. It is very easy to use. The tools documentation is basic, but I raised a ticket and received almost immediate response. Much better than a documentation can be.

I am a Quality Assurance professional for 25 years and I can recommend RSTicket withouth any doubts.
I've struggled with lack of features on other helpdesk systems for Joomla (mentioning no names), so I was delighted to find this component which offers just what a helpdesk ticket system should.

1. You can configure staff members and assign tickets to them
2. You can prioritise tickets
3. You can create tickets for your clients directly
4. You can change the status and close/open tickets
5. You can view open tickets only

Very easy to use and looks nice too. Very good value!! I would definitely recommend using this component above the other ones available for Joomla.

I have been looking for a good work order system for J 1.5 for quite some time, and believe that I have finally found it. I previously used Taskhopper on my J 1.0 site, but without any 1.5 updates I was forced to look for a new product.

RStickets! is not flashy - it just works and looks great on our site. I found it to be very easy to configure and set up. Custom fields were very easy to add, and the software allows you to have guests enter a new ticket - a major criteria for a work order system for a local government.

I would add that the support for RStickets has been excellent. I have entered several support requests and they have responded promptly each time to my questions. Once thorough documentation and a support forum is provided for this product I could easily see myself improving my rating to excellent.

A couple of other notes: RStickets automatically creates registered user account in Joomla when a guest ticket is opened. This is a nice solution to allow users to track their tickets, but it gave me a shock the first time I saw a half dozen new user accounts on my site that I didn't recognize. Second, in the code it appears that RStickets is set up to allow incoming email to create a new ticket as well, but I have yet to find out how this is done, or if this is a yet to be released feature.

On the whole a very strong product.
Not only did RSJoomla get right back to me upon issuing a support ticket seeking assistance in setting up my install, but they returned subsequent messages in a timely and helpful manner.

RSTickets itself is just about one-of-a-kind in terms of ticket systems for Joomla 1.5. It works just as advertised, and anyone with a need for a ticket system should definitely check it out. I had great success with their Form component, and found it to work seamlessly. It's not often that I find Joomla add-ons to work so well, but RSJoomla delivers!
