MorfeoShow release 1.2.0 is a component that permit management of photos galleriers using various formats, ajax with shadowbox, flash with imagerotator, polaroid etc etc, with our own images loaded using control panel, or adding images before uploading with a FTP client inside myphoto folder and after add with control panel, or Flickr for loading flickr photo galleries, and Maps with Flickr map or google map system, and last using your images stored in Picasa. For that Morfeoshow is more than a simple gallery. You can view galleries lists using classic or flash format. You can create individual menu items related to the individual galleries directly from the control panel choosing your prefer menu items groups. Morfeoshow is inspired by an original Matthew Thomson work please take time to visit his web site www.ignitejoomlaextensions.com and use his smart component.

Problem with old MySql by RobertS, November 17, 2008
Does not work out of the box for webservers that have an old MySQL. In that case, during installation of the component, Joomla reports error "DB function failed with error number 1146".

The error is caused by the utf8 character set that is defined for the three SQL database tables. It occurs if you have an old MySQL like I do, which does not support the utf8 character set. So the solution is relatively simple: for the guys with an old MySQL, manually create the 3 tables in the SQL database without the text CHARACTER SET `utf8`.

Great Gallery by deko, November 14, 2008
Great Component
I Agree:
- pagination is missing
- delete multiple pictures in backend
- subcategory not posible (for now)
- must have safe mode off :(

anyway, best joomla gallery, more then one Gallery ...

Almost There by mwbarker, November 11, 2008
This is probably the best gallery manager out there for Joomla 1.5, but I see a couple of problems that should not exist:

1. Gallery Thumbnail - You should be able to choose from one of the thumbnails generated for your gallery instead of having to upload a separate image. When you do upload your thumbnail image, if you set it to view at anything other than 50x50, it will be distorted as that image size is hard coded into the component. Strange indeed!

2. Ordering - Why would I want the most recent galleries listed last? But that is how this component is configured and it is EXTREMELY difficult to go in and reorder things to try and keep the newest albums listed first. I have to go into the database itself frequently and hand-jam in the ordering for all of the albums every time I add a new one. There are no up/down arrows in the album listing to try and do this in the backend. This definitely needs an option for how you would prefer your albums listed.

Other than those two issues, the only other suggestion I have right now is to be able to have subalbums to keep things better organized (and possibly some pagination added).

Safari issue by nuwud, November 9, 2008
Hi, I love everything about this module, but I have never seen it work on a mac with a safari browser after several tests on several systems. I haven't found any documentation that lends to the idea that this is common. Everything works great on every other system with any other major browser (ie and firefox).

So close to perfection by wolfix, November 7, 2008
Great work; nice and clean. It doesn't have all the clutter features like; Ratings, Comments, Votes, and Hits.

However, this gallery has one major flaw that hinders me from using it: It crops the thumbnail to one aspect; so if you have thumbnails set for wide images then a tall image will be cropped to the wide aspect. Since most of my photos are group shots of people, it cuts faces and heads in weird places making the thumbnails look like the photographer doesn't know how to take a photo.

The default setting for thumbnails is square which crops wide and tall images in weird places.

It would be nice if thumbnails kept the original aspect of the image; wide or tall.

Also I was unable to delete multiple images in a Photo Gallery; you have to do it one at a time and wait for the page to refresh each time you delete.

This is such a nice gallery I'm tempted to use it in hopes they will fix the thumbnail aspect issue.

Best,

wolfix

Easy and well done by bonnyjoy, October 29, 2008
Great Gallery Management, great tool, clean and functional! A++

Any plans to incorporate another Airtight Image Viewer: AutoViewer?

Love it - the only wish I would have would be image descriptions.

finally! Diamond in the rough... by jawtech, October 24, 2008
Wow, I tried installing all manner of photo galleries, but get install errors, batch upload errors, incompatibility issues with Joomla 1.5, or too complex with bridges...you name it. I'm not asking for the moon. I just want to setup a few galleries, have thumb nails done automatically and have a list of galleries. MorfeoShow does this easily! And the choices of gallery formats including flash and simple are a bonus. Well done MorfeoShow!

very complete and userfriendly by dolfandringa, October 10, 2008

I have been looking for a proper Image Gallery component for Joomla for a while. Morfeoshow fulfilled all my whishes.
* It has many different display forms from rows of thumbnails under eachother to beautiful flash galleries.
* You can upload multiple images to a folder through ftp (or other means) and add these all at once to a gallery, especially usefull with large amounts of images.
* You can create direct menu links to a specific gallery or link to a page with an overview of all galleries. you can even embed a specific gallery in a normal article through the morfeoshow plugin.
* It is highly configurable but the standard settings are actually already fine. It was quick to setup.
* completely free and open source.

All in all great software!

Great Extension by bottomupwebs, October 9, 2008

Pros: Nice and fancy. Has its own media manager.

Cons: Images need to be uploaded in the /components/com_morfeoshow/ directory so it is difficult to use the Joomla Media Manager. Also makes it difficult to use these images for other pages. Wish it used the the images/stories directory.

Keep up the good work. I can see a lot of effort has gone into this extension.

Really nice and fairly simple gallery by vicgolgo13, October 8, 2008
This was very simple to install and get up and running right away. I love the flash gallery options, and uploading was a breeze. The only thing I think would have made this a complete package is a comment system. Other than that, it is really straightforward and easy to use.

Exactly what I was looking for! by deggertsen, October 8, 2008

Brilliant! This component and plug-in make it so easy to put your photos up in one of many awesome photo galleries. Works like a charm and looks great too!

My one complaint is that there is not a module available. I would like to be able to put one of my galleries into a module but sadly the {morfeo 1} tag did not work on a custom HTML module.

Finally,.. an excellent joomla gallery! by belial, October 6, 2008

After a long time, I can say that, finally, Joomla has a gallery worthy.
I was tasted all, and this is the most simple, elegant and functional.
I hope than is not discontinued as almost all others galleries.

Congratulations!

Well designes, easy to handle gallery by denbec, October 5, 2008
Nothing much to say.
Easy install. Understandable. And I love the way you can display the pictures. Would be great if those different layouts would be possible for picasa as well.
