I came across this component by complete chance (literally about 10 minutes ago) while looking for language related extensions and I liked the sound of it so instantly installed it.
PERFECT! Stunningly simple, does exactly what it says it does and now I can use this component instead of making a million and one section specific "edit" links on the usermenu. Also it's much easier to write user documentation that says "...go to the 'add/edit content' link on the User Menu..." than telling them to browse around the site to find the relevant content to edit or section/category list view to find a "new" link.
The only thing that would make me even more impressed would be the ability to limit the sections a 'special' user could add content to according to user group (Author/Editor/Publisher) etc... or even if there was an option to limit the sections to all users using the component. Unless I'm missing something that's not currently possible.

Hey folks,
I like this component very much and hope it becomes part of Joomla in the future. Straightforward and obvious to use - many many thanks.
A much requested Joomla feature I am looking for is a relatively simple one: deleting content from the frontend. We don't train our clients right away on the backend, and they scratch their heads when they see they can add content and edit it (or "unpublish" it) but can't delete it completely.

I must agree with previous reviewer regarding
"Suggestion for next step : an email notification for admin after each author modification"
Very strange to have a CMS that doesn't even notify of new content submissions at all, let alone a modification!

This can be classified as the most stupid component ever! Why? It is so brilliant, that as everyone before me, I am shocked that this doesn't existed before I found it.
It could go further, but a content management system, without having the options provided by MyContent is only content system. |
