If you are a Joomla/Mambo templates maker, when you package your template, sometimes it is painful to write the TemplateDetails.xml files:
1. It takes times to count the files and add them into the xml file.
2. Your template will have errors if you omit any file of your templates.
3. You can not install if the files in your xml file don't exist or duplicate. http://www.joomlart.com/blogsection/addons/5/5.html

Nice Partner for Dreamweaver Snippets by zinzeldorf, February 14, 2007

I am currently using the free dreamweaver snippet extensions in developing my templates. This tool is a handy partner to finish off the process. I posted on its homepage site, but I thought I'd give a shout here as well.

Note: If you happen to have extra files in your template directory for some reason you will need to remove some of the XML entries. After making the xml file you must still archive the template.

Doesn't work, little documentation, 'nuff said. I recommend Template XML generator component instead.

I'm running this from the root folder of my local WAMP server. I simply click on the generator folder and it's right there. I haven't looked at a templateDetails.xml file since.

It would be of great help...if only it worked! It seems the script has some problem to access directories on local drives, so it can't create the xml file
