I don't like it very much cause you have to make an account at another site and there is a link from my joomla site to that chat room

Easy to install and configure (I changed only the username). Since the monitor runs in the toolbar, I don't have to have a browser window open to receive chat requests. Thanks for making this service known and writing a module to make taking advantage of it easy.

Visually it's not much... But Functionality is what I really needed and it's that complete. Excellent little module. This should be more popular than it is, it took my forever to find. Thanks a bunch.

I have spent days looking for a good live chat system for my website that would allow users to contact me while I am working. This works like a charm. You sign-up, load up the software on your computer, install the module and you are chatting with anyone who comes to your site. You don't have to keep the back end of Joomla open and you don't have to force your visitors to sign up for an IM service they don't want.
This is the best live chat available for Joomla - Well done.

Like the other reviewer on here, I was looking for a module that would enable IM capability between a user on the website and end user who would be online. The context is for a campground that I'm setting up a website for. They needed to be able to talk to people in realtime via a chat tool. There are surprisingly few items in Joomla that will let you do that. Most of them didn't work because they were designed for people to chat as a group online OR they didn't have a way to let you know someone was trying to contact you. This tool has a nifty (and very light) client application you can download to intercept any messages. I changed the WAV file to the standard Yahoo one, because it is much more audible to someone sitting around a terminal. Works like a champ. The only downside is that you have to use the embedded Flash object that Chatango references you to. And you are stuck with the "Get Chatango" link and a link that asks users to get a Chatango Account if they don't want to be anonymous.
But hey!!! Easy to install and set up. I had chat running inside of 5 minutes.

Thanks for this, I would never have come across Chatango without it. Now I have a free online chat helpline on my site.
One small problem, was that the font size variable didn't work in module control. It was an easy edit in mod_chatago.php to add the "f=" variable taht had been missed in the code.
