| Just what I was Looking for by NetGoonie, May 15, 2007 |

I have to say, this component is just what I was looking for when designing a site for a client. I am using this for something other than simply displaying content as a directory and it's something that is quite flexible actually. To be honest, I would like to see a commercial level version of this to be used as an actual site directory that could compete against others like mosets. I see here it has the modules icon in the extentions at joomla, but I didn't see any when I installed the component...did I miss something here? I will have to look again. The component does have a copyright line that shows up in the page and know many will want that removed. However, I think what VisualClinic should do is offer a couple options:
(1) Free version with copyright there
(2) Paid version without (not by optional donation either)
I'd still like to see a commercial level directory be made by VisualClinic with more features. I'd definitely purchase it.

I've had to remove alphacontent from both of my websites because it arbitrarily doesnt pick up some of the categories in sections. I've not been able to find any sort of workaround. I wish there was something else that did what alphacontent does. I guess I'll wait and see if it gets further development.

| Fabulous Product by leolam, April 27, 2007 |

We have followed development of AlphaContent since Bernard introduced the Software. We have played with the software around and have now fully adapted the package as mature after the launch of version 2.5.6. It definitely rocks big-time and it offers a fantastic alternative to display Content in a very mature and pleasant way. Highly flexible in setup and options with full integration to Visualclinic's other releases such as AkoComment Tweaked version (wow!) and the very versatile and (undiscovered) VisualRecommend
AlphaContent installs in a second and the settings are very self-explanatory. The support by Bernard Gilly is outstanding and very professional

This is a very usefull component, thank you very much.
The only thing what is nerving me is, that im not able to change the "Show section/category label" format.
It shows: "section/category" and i want only "category"
...i was browsing the code for several hours but i didnot got it...
hm... otherways its perfect...

| The best indexing component! by gr8sale, March 29, 2007 |
|
Of all of the index type extensions, this is the best because it isn't a separate entity that I have to re-enter my sections, categories and content into. I love that it uses the sections and categories already in use. I see many of the other comparable components redundant in the fact that they have separate content structures from that of the stock joomla. What a great FREE component. The only thing I could ask for is that the currently selected section displayed a better listing of categories each followed with a set number of latest/most popular item summaries. This would be more attractive than the large list of all items in a section. Maybe on the next release?:) But since this is Free who can complain?

| Very very good. Much better than demo. by giantbrandon, January 29, 2007 |
|
Short version: Nice work fellas, it's all good
Long version: I looked at the demo many times without trying it. I'm such a moron. I needed something like this. Moron (me) didn't try it for a dumb reason. I was turned off by litbox opening up on the demo. Yeah. Hey I didn't want litbox :) Why litbox, it could have been great :) Duh, of course I can disable that option. You, if you're on the cuff, just download and try it. I wish I did sooner, it's much better than the all important demo (demos are so important). All the options are easy to adjust in the admin and it works great.
Thanks Visual Clinic: Thanks for generously GPL'ing it for Joomla and sharing. Excellent component.

| A component not completed by jdonnelly, November 20, 2006 |

As it is written now, this component is a well done piece of code that plays nice (so far) with all my other components. It allows you to create a directory structure using the "sections" and "category" portions of joomla. As advertised it does exactly what it says it will do. Unfortunately (as others have pointed out) it does not offer a subcategory capability. This means that whatever content you create is dumped into a single window based on the section you click on. Yes you can sort by category but only after clicking on that category. This makes for something of a confusing mess. In order to make this a true directory component, it needs the following: (1) subcategory capability (preferably limitless), (2) the ability to create and publish frontend forms allowing users to create their own directory entries. The first one would make this a complete and valued component. The second one would make this component rockin.
