installing was a breeze as each step was well documented. I was expecting a few issues as we'd previously run ComboMax and then AkoComment so comments were scattered and had been spasmodic but every single one was imported perfectly.. I couldn't have been more thrilled. The ability to moderate comments from the front end is just brilliant, such a time saver. double thumbs up :)

I typically love to use Open Source software because, well, I am cheap. I want minimal cost and maximum functionality. While I admit I was hesitant at first to pay for a commenting system with many free ones out there, the AJAX feature really caught my attention. The money back guarantee was the deal breaker.

I did have some issues installing, but it turned out to be Joomla's quirks and not the commenting software. Once I fixed the quirks, the install was a breeze and even the latest upgrade v1.5 to v1.6 was seamless and well documented. Documentation seems to be one of the biggest failures out there and JomComment was nothing short of spectacular. I appreciate that.

I will note a few of my forum posts have gone unanswered, but understandably I posted them during the final days before release of their latest version. My posts are not troubleshooting in nature only req for possibly how to modify, so in terms of tech support I think they are doing fine.

The v1.6 upgrade was a major upgrade in my opinion with lots of features I saw requested on the forums (they do have a feature request area--and obviously listen). Members at my website have complimented me on how easy and even "fun" it is to leave comments. One can only imagine what the developers have in store for future upgrades. I have no doubts it will be largely based on user requests.

Great Product if it were Free - Nothing gained for paying. by TBrick, August 10, 2006

This is a great component. Very easy to use and easy to install, but if you think you're getting better support and help for a paid component. You are wrong. Check out the developer's site's support forum and see all the unanswered posts.

That said, the commenting system is one of the best out there. Provided you have a seamless and uneventful installation, you will undoubtably enjoy this product.

You have read the other comments about how great this component is, so I would just be repeating the fact that it is great, really great.

I want to make a comment about the support you will receive.I have made many a call to many companies for support for their products but this support by Jom Comment has to be the best I have ever received.

I wanted to use this component on my wamp server on my computer and I was having trouble getting it to install correctly on my computer. I like to test things on my local server before I sending it up to my web hosting account. You can imagine since they cannot access my computer they were working in the dark trying to help me. Nevertheless they kept at it until they found me a solution.

I truly believe it would be quite hard to find this level of support anywhere else. So you not only get a great component you get fantastic support to go along with it.

Super easy to install and use. I really like the import option from AK. I would love to see an option for integration with Community Builder where the username links to the CB profile and add an option to use the CB profile photo thumbnail as the avatar.

I'm new to Joomla!, I used before e107 CMS, where all the commenting was built-in. I got problems with it, so I decided to change to another CMS - that's how I got to Joomla!, but it doesn't contain a comment option.
I was looking for a Commenting mambot/component/plugin, etc. I've tried several ones, and some of them were clever, but broke my site's W3C validity, others didn't give me the possibility to let the system flow under control.
Finally I have tried Jom Comment. Most of all it works, it makes a valid XHTML code, and gives a nice control of the whole thing.
And they promise, that in the next version there will be an option to use the Community Builder's avatars.
So I'm only suggesting this Commenting extension.
