This is a simple Joomla! module that will display the menu and submenus in an unordered list format.
How it works:
When a menu item is clicked, it will check if there is a sublevel (children menu items) and display it. This goes on recursively. Each level of the menu will appear in its own unordered list.
CSS Features:
Each menu level will be assigned a unique CSS id so that you can style it in CSS. The unique id is generated by combining the CSS base name with an integer starting from 1 for the top most level. Example: If your CSS base name is "menulevel", then the top most menu level will be "menulevel1", follow by "menulevel2", "menulevel3", and so on. The active menu item (including its parent menu items) is assigned a CSS class of active_menu.

ok for multirows navigation menu by lbo, February 6, 2007
the fazct that submenus come "after" the end of the parent menu permit to use the component for a multirow navigation system. this would not be possible if submenus were nested right below the parent link.

it would be nice anyway to have the the possibility to choose nested-not nested but I understand it would be a mess.

Not so powerful by sailor, May 29, 2006
I tried for my site, I needed a way to overcome the limit of Joomla! when you set flat style for a menu. The module works but the submenu voices are presented after all main voices. In other words:
voice 1
voice 2
voice 3
-voice1 sub1
-voice1 sub2
Furthermore if you have multiple menus you have to copy the module for each menu and configure it. Anyway the idea is good and I hope Steven will improve it and if you have a simple need as the one shown in the example site it could be good.

cool but not complete. by simplex, May 3, 2006
useful extension!

but it would be great if the extension was able to split the menu to display them on different modulepositions.

keep up the good work!

thanx
