I have tried a lot of rental products - most are simply too complex for the average user and maintaining a largish website can be difficult. This product is simple to use, easy to install and works. For this I would give it 4* overall. Its downside is no SEO capability at all - not even meta tags which means for being found online, it's a 1* product. It is also relatively expensive given that it has quite limited admin functions and no SEO capabilities. I do however believe that it has merit for a simple website or for personal rentals - it does after all do what it says on the tin and it does it very well. If you don't mind the price tag and you want it for a personal rental website then I think it is a very good solution. You can certainly be up and running in a few minutes. Having said this I would like to see the deficiencies ironed out and SEO built in - even something as simple as meta tag control i.e. title, description and keywords. As a minimum it should work with SH404SEF or similar SEO products as this would iron out many such problems. is it worth 99 euro (actually 115 with sales tax)? Definitely with the deficiencies sorted - possibly if you want a very simple no nonsense rental solution.
I have been searching for a product to help get my property online. I had joomla installed and came across reservation manager.

The component is really easy to use and install, and seems to work well with most other components. A good overall product.

I was searching for a reservation product, which was easy to use, easy to install, and looked great. Most other products failed on either one or two of these points.

This was great!. I loved the idea of the cleaning roster and the other little extra's. The only fault I had was with the ioncube loaders, but support dealt with this.

A no-nonsense package
I run a small-time bed and breakfast in slough, uk. I dont really know much about Joomla, but was advised from my web guys that this was the way to go.

I have found reservation manager a great component. Its easy to us and add pictures and like the idea of being able to edit the text that people see when they reserve

thanks guys
After using Car Manager for a client, I decided to try out there Reservation System for property owners. I found the software was simple to set up and although I did have problems with some pricing issues, it seems this was more to do with my hosting servers permission status, then the product.

You can assign photo's and reservations via the back end of front end.

good job!
I have been searching for a reservation system for my customers small hotel. Actually my customer has two hotels so I wanted the possibility to extend the system. Initially I wasn't looking for a mambo/joomla solution because of previous experience with support from component developers but there really isn't that much to choose from out there. So I contacted several extension developers. Some of these companies didn't even reply! Webformatique on the other hand are very professional with Live chat on their website although this isn't available all the time and difficult if you are on a time-zone other than GMT, but it was nice to chat to them before purchasing.

Once I had decided, the next part was easy, Webformatique did the whole setup for me; site, template and Reservation Manager for a very reasonable price and pretty quick the whole thing was completed in about 10days.

Plus they are about to release a PRO version of the component which will satisfy my customers requirements for the other hotel.

All in all... 1 happy customer for me, an easy project to see through from start to finish. I'm sorry I can't disclose my customers site as this was so easy I don't really want my customer to know this ;-)

It's a web-designers dream to find software like this. I hope there other products live up to this standard as I will certainly be using Webformatiques products again soon.

Thanks for the great products and service.
Reservation Manager is a great all round product. The booking system is easy to manage and you can assign different prices according to your peak times etc. I did have some problems with the ioncube loaders, but the support team soon had me back up and running.

My customers have given my site great feedback, and im looking forward to increasing my revenue too
A great package!. These people have obviously ran there own accomodation place.

You have a great backend function, which allows you to enter price through csv, reservations are easy to input and confirm. Has a great feel to it!. Adding pictures is easy, and the support with Joomlafish! is a great help.

The support has been really good. I have chatted to a few of the staff via chat and have found that any problems I have had have been resolved quickly

Whilst ResMan exhibits the potential to be a fantastic component its let down by the manner in which its being developed and supported.

Keep in mind that this isnt a cheap component.

The modules to show a featured listing (for example) are not included in the price. They are chargeable extras.

Ok - so everyone has to make a living. And you decide to invest in ResMan. My experience was a component release that had MAJOR FLAWS AND BUGS that a decent development would have foudn during testing. THERE ARE THINGS THAT JUST DONT WORK!

To top it all off after paying for the privelidge of being dissapointed with a faulty component that you cant really use cause its buggy - THEY FILL YOUR PAGE WITH COPYRIGHT META TAGS ADVERTISING THEMSELVES.

This is my experience. You can make your own minds up!

Like I said - there's potential here....

In reply to Mark(fingerpig)'s comments.

We have worked very hard with Mark to ensure that the customer is completely satisfied with this solution.

Points we should make:-

>> All of our products are supplied with the component and full support. When you purchase the item you are not just purchasing the component but also support and free updates for the life of that version of component you purchase. Optional items usually require support to help customers implement so this is why these are charged as optional extras.

>> This is actually a very cost effective solution to implementing an automated reservation system onto your website, at 99 euros, no annual support or software renewal fees.

>> We have hundreds of customers successfully using Reservation Manager worldwide. We try exceptionally hard to ensure that all customers are satisfied with the Reservation Manager solution and treat all reported issues as priority. We operate a ticketed helpdesk system and issues should always be logged here instead of our forums as helpdesk tickets take priority over forum postings.

For Marks issues I believe all issues were posted to our forums (hence not treated as priority). I also believe that we have resolved all these issues now with Mark.

>> The product did have one "copyright" meta tag. However we now use one simple META tag to identify the product, this is very discreet and does not blatantly advertise Reservation Manager.

I hope this helps. Please visit http://webformatique.com and ask us any questions via our live chat if you have any concerns.

This is just what i'm looking for, I'm currently making a property website for my mum so this should come in great!
I've found Reservation Manager to be a very polished product - and what is so critical too, has a brilliant support team 'behind the scenes' - I've only had to call on them a couple of times with queries, but response rate and content had been unbeatable. The core component seems very robust and feature pack. A couple of limitations I've noted for my own purposes but I know these are 'work in progress' for the next version which looks like it will be totally awesome. Those limitations certainly weren't enough though to stop me going ahead with the current version and I'm so glad I did. It's handling my Cayman Islands vacation rentals a treat.

I also needed some 'slightly different' functionality too and the custom work was undertaken for me quickly and accurately - all at a totally reasonable fee too covering no doubt the hours of head-scratching code tweaking that was needed.....

Great job! webformatique has something special here. It's already great - but I can see it's really going places too - I can't wait for the next version!!

I have previously used another popular booking system but after too many issues with it I tried Reservation Manager. I found it excellent. It was easy to install, easy to setup and configure, easy to customise and then easy for customers to make a booking. I think the administration interface is better than any other component I used due to the "folder view" type menu on the left. Replies from the developer company when I contacted them were fast. I highly recommend Reservation Manager.

after 6 month of an experiment in the component or module that relate with booking and reservation. finally i decide to buy this component and used it for my customer site.

this component is rock !!!! try it if you are need the component or module that relate with booking and reservation on your site.

Support is outstanding and very quick to respond!
thank you ,Rob :-) you win!!!!!!
I was looking for a holiday home booking plug-in for Joomla that looked easy to install, and more importantly, easy to administer when live (as this bit would be done by a non Joomla user). Reservation Manger was perfect for the job. Installation was simple and the interface to configure the various option was both intuitive and well documented (via a complete set of pop up help tips). I downloaded the manual but didn't need to look at it, always a good sign. I was only looking to advertise and manage 1 flat, this makes much of the functionality a bit over the top for my needs but it is just a suitable for large and small letting challenges.

I really like the fact that integrating with paypal was as simple as entering your email address! Doing this means that bookings can be confirmed in the system (shown as blocked out on the calendar) without any manual intervention by the administrator.

My one complaint would have been this is a bit expensive but having tried it out the quality is worth it and It would still be my first choice for any future sites.
Im using this component on a dutch website. I must say this tool does excatly what is claims to do. As Jomres didn't work on my Hosting Solution i had to take Reservation Manager. It al installs like a charm. But most of all if you have any problems or questions, you just mail them and the response the same day. So The support is the best around and also free updates (in same product series).

Incorporated the tool in a Dutch site. Reservation Manager does exactly what it claims to do and is extremely simple to implement. Support from the development team is outstanding (we experienced some small problems in the Dutch translation and with the aid of the development team it was solved in no time).

If you are not into programming yourself and you need a reservation component - I would recommend Reservation Manager!

I needed a solution for a customer who has a Hawaii vacation rental. I had this component installed and working in 10 minutes. It has a great integration with paypal and customer has the option to make reservation and pay later which works out well if they want to call and reserve by phone. Admin backend is easy to navigate and control. All of the rental particulars are easy for a client to manage with basic to no knowledge of HTML.

Support is outstanding and quick to respond!

I found the component very useful for my web site… It’s user-friendly and intuitive. The creators were also nice, really helpful and quite fast with solving minor problems. I recommend it to everyone – and oh! – it’s translated in several languages – extremely valuable option.
I actually found this component through the Mambo Forums. Bought it and installed it for my Client. Within a morning I created a full site for my client so he was able to accept online bookings and even take payments. I had to email Webformatique once to ask about a minor technical issue there support was very good with a very fast response and answered the question immediately. I would highly recommend if you need a Reservation component for you site look at this first it saved me loads of time.
To me is more like a property listing with an availability calander and an enquiry form. is kind of similar like hotproperty, but then hotpropery has more features as a property listing extension, if you compare it to jomres then it lacks , the real time availability, the search modules (by feature, location etc..), the payment modules and real time confirmation. Also I find it bit pricy considering there are more advanced property listing Extension and property reservation Extension for the same price
