Nice but... by micoots, September 3, 2006

As others below have stated, this module is great but has a couple of shortcomings being:

* the non-integration of joomla users into the chatter

* the "gabbly.com" reference

I also find it cumbersome to have the chatter "jailed" within the browser window, it would be much better to have this as a pop-up and allow the users to move that around their desktop.

Another nice feature would be to allow the "right-side bar" to be automatically selected when the user enters the chatter.

I have emailed the author directly a couple of times on these issues and he doesn't reply.

This module is not recommended for install unless you don't mind the above issues.

Not good! by , June 16, 2006

I tested it and as the other reviewer states, it connects to http://gabbly.com/http://mysite.com/index.php. As if that wasn't enough, it doesn't really work with FireFox, works well with IE.

Good but... by baraxas, May 11, 2006
I've tried many and many chat modules, over a variety of CMS: phpnuke, postnuke, xoops, phpWebSite and probably some other...
Until now I think the best is DHChat, for phpnuke. This module works very well, fast and nice, but:

-it does a redirect when you launch the chat, so your website has the address:
http://gabbly.com/http://www.yourjoomlasite.com/index.php
during operation of the chat

-no user database integration, every user can choose the name he/she wants.

So Simple !! by , May 9, 2006
Well, I've been using Joomla since the Mambo 4.5 version till now, Joomla 1.0.8.

I've a community-based website and it is my wish to have a service where the members can chat easily with each other. I've tried MOSpjirc (which utilizes java), and some other Chat components and still, I am not satistfied.
until now! You should try this. An instant chat for your webpage.
