DO NOT INSTALL THIS!!! by hp3kman, July 15, 2007
Besides being extremely hokey looking (it's just a big gray box with - of all things - Float as a title (even if you try to change it)!

There are other extensions that will accomplish the same thing much more elegantly...

Add to that, there is virtually NO SUPPORT or DOC on the website...AND...it's very buggy w/ IE...AND, if you try to install, you will get this error:

Warning: mosloadcomponent(): Failed opening '/home/content/e/c/o/ecometrist/html/gfso.org/components/com_ajaxfloats/ajaxfloats.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/content/e/c/o/ecometrist/html/gfso.org/includes/frontend.php on line 66

THIS IS EVEN AFTER THE COMPONENT AND MODULE HAS BEEN UNINSTALLED....HOW DO I FIX THAT?????

Works well by dhudiburg, June 11, 2006
Thanks for providing this component/module. It works fine, but is there a way to install more than one iteration of this module? I would love to be able to provide multiple AjaxFloats on my site, in fact, NEED to.

A bot would also be very helpful for me. I'm trying to incorporate it into the flow of several pages and need to link from content to activate the float.

Thanks for your work on this!

Just the coolest. by raj, June 10, 2006

Good module now need a bot by j0nnnnn0, June 9, 2006
Great start and looks good by keeping it simple.
Would love to see a bot developped now, so that I can create linked and tagged floats....

Good start to a great addon by icwebmaster, May 31, 2006

After trying this it seems to not be very IE friendly but I'm sure Sandy is working out these various issues.

If you are installing this in its present state you will find if you are an IE user that it fails to allow you to configure it properly. Use firefox and it works great with no errors on the backend configuration side.

The only issues I faced were that concerning IE. Which in my case represents over 70% of my visitors. I used this to float a subsite from our site and I was quite impressed on how it worked and looked in Firefox, but some minor work is needed to make it compatible to look and feel the same in IE.

All and all, another fine piece of work from Sandy, a few fixes and I'd say a great addon for all us Joomie's to look into. I've been very happy with the quick support and suggestions from Sandy as well.

Make sure to set an image in the config with firefox and you will not have a broken link error with IE, soemthing I believe Sandy is as well looking into.
