 Because the result matters
XHTMLSuite produces valid XHTML 1.0 code. XHTML is a web standard defined by the W3C that ensures that your contents will be presented consistently in various software (like Browsers, Screen Readers, etc.) on different operating systems.
Accessibility — XHTMLSuite has it in itself
XHTMLSuite provides you with the basic things, you need to create accessible contents according to Web Accessibility Initiative of the World Wide Web Consortium ( http://w3.org/WAI/) and Section 508 Standards ( http://www.section508.gov/). XHTMLSuite's unique Accessibility Checker enables you to verify if your contents are accessible.
Each to his own
Thanks to its intelligent integration as a component into Joomla!, XHTMLSuite enables you to set up individual editor configurations for every default user group as well as for every single user of your website, e. g. depending on access level or state of knowledge. This gives you perfect control over your content.

I have used this extension on a couple of sites now for both Joomla 1 and 1.5.2 and am very happy. I find it has better features than other well known editors for Joomla!.
I also find support is very good if there are any problems.

The best editor for the Joomla framework by far.
We've been using it for sometime. One of the main features is the option for assigning different editor tool permissions to different users.
The only downside is this:
There is no option in the mambot to assign a different editor.css file like some of the other editors do.
You can assign it to any of your installed templates which will show all css classes in the dropdown styles box. If however, you do not want to see loads of styles, there is a file so you can edit your own css styles, then in the mambot override the templates complete style list.
But that does not solve the major problem of not being able to use a custom backend css for the editor.
This came to light when we upgraded to a different website template from JoomlaShack. Even assigning the editor to the new template we cannot use it. It may be a bug in the template, in the editor, or both. But if there was the option in the mambot to assign a different css file the problem could have been solved.

First of all the XHTML Suite meets all of my expectations. Installation is a quick (one minute) and simple task. Also the features of XHTML, especially the easy and powerful customization options for different user groups (authors, administrators …) are impressive.
What did surprise me most?
I encountered a little problem when using the file upload routine. I send an email to the XHTML support team and got help within 3 hours. I was really astonished to get such a quick response on a Sunday afternoon. That perfect support. I prefer to pay a small amount for an editor having the guarantee to get quick feedback by the developers in case of any trouble.
Regards
Kurt

I always install this editor and train the client with it after trying all the other editors available here as of 2007. It is the only one that has consistently worked for me on many hosts from 1and1 to GoDaddy to small ISP's. My clients and partners always appreciate the expanded functionality it has over the free editors. Without XHTML Suite's super image insertion and CSS integration Joomla! would not have been chosen by some clients. The tables, links, anchors, and other editing features all work well. The price is reasonable, I am happy to encourage the author to keep it going. It costs far less than the value added and the time saved. I have had good response from the author within a reasonable time frame. All my issues have been resolved successfully. Thank you XHTML!

I've used the product for a while now and I have to say say it has many less features than JCE, some of the features it does mention don't exist. Then again with no good manual or support it's hard to find out. Looks nice though.

I couldn't imagine running a Joomla or Mambo site that required posting frequent content without this editor. I can't comment on support based on post in their forums, but whenever I have emailed them with a problem they replied promptly and usually sent me the latest version and anthing else I might need to be able to resolve the problem without multiple coorespondences.
I have no link with them, but I had to speak up since I think it is the best component I have ever used with Joomla or Mambo. Every other editor I have tried isn't even close to XHTML Suite IMHO

I have been looking for a truly cross-platform editor for my users, most of with limited technical skill. Despite their limited technical skills, they are very demanding sales people that expect the best. I tried all the others and each had their own issues. Either they were difficult to use or didn't work on their browser.
XHTMLSuite is an order of magnitude better than all the others. The image handling alone is worth the modest price. Plus, the support from the company is excellent. They worked with me patiently to resolve a silly mistake on my part.
I would recommend this tool to anyone looking for a commercial grade editor for users needing professional functionality.

I use XHtml-Suite for all of my Joomla Sites! Xhtml-Suite is the easiest way for an unexperienced Client, to handle the Website only from the Frontend. Once I´ve build the Template, the Client will be able to Upload Photos and Files into the Website on his own.
I´ve tried all the free Editors. No Editor can reach the XHtml-Suites Resources.
The Support in the XHtml Forum is Ecellent! When I Post an Topic, the Answer from the Experts will come very quickly.
In an Special Case, I got Help from the Support by fixing the Code on my Server. Thanks again, for that!

I've now tried several editors to Joomla! before ending up with this one. It really is a professional editor - and compared to the hours I’ve earlier spend getting the other free editor to work like I wanted it I don't mind paying a little for at commercial license.
And the support is just excellent. It’s fast and efficient.
Almost everything is described in the forums on the site (you have to log in)
Request to future editions is taken seriously and actually added!
Installation is sweet and easy.
I can only recommend this editor which put my search for a good editor to end.

I have built many Joomla sites and no matter what editor we have used or tried, there almost always seems to be a compatability issue that we run into. XHTML Suite has come a long way and is nice and stable. We have not had any issues on our site and we use the heck out of it. I am definately considering the developer licence to use on all of our other sites because so far I am impressed with the product.
Good Job!!!

I've tried everything else: FCK, JCE, TME, but none of them have impressed me particularly. The worst thing has been the hyperlinks headache. The brilliant thing with this is the ease with which you can link to articles and add file links - exactly what I needed. FCK is supposed to have a similar facility, but it never worked for me, nor I could I ever get JCE to integrate properly with DOCMan as it claimed to be able to do. This was worth every cent. Can't comment on the quality of support, but the best thing is not needing any! That's almost a first for me with Joomla.

"Fatal error: Call to undefined function: showfooter()" is the only result I have by upgrading to the last version and by connecting to XHTML admin settings. In addition, wysiwyg interface doesn't work anymore ! XHTML website and forum are slow, so slow that I am discouraged from seeking or downloading something...
Poor. Owner's reply: Yannis,
you are getting this error message because you have applied an update patch to a version of XHTMLSuite that is not compatible.
If you'd have read the details of the upgrade package, you sure would have discovered the following note:
"No cumulative update – only applicable to versions from 1.6.5 of XHTMLSuite."
In order to get a new full installer of XHTMLSuite the only thing necessary would have been to write me an email, stating your licensed domain and you would have received it within the latest of two business days.
I can understand you're upset that your copy of XHTMLSuite is not working anymore, however I do not think that you, applying the wrong patch to your installation, justifies such a bad rating and review.
Anyway, if XHTMLSuite was so poor like you wrote, I think you simply would have uninstalled it and installed another editor, instead of trying to update it.
