mod_autologin
Simple module for Joomla 1.0. With this module you can get automatic access to Joomla backend (without entering login /password), if you have authorized in frontend with administrator privileges.

*UPDATE: New version 1.0.3 fixes the session problem, if mod_autologin has been published after some module/component which has already opened session.

Broken with joomla 1.0.12 and 1.0.13 - fixed by bouton, August 23, 2007

This broke when I upgraded my joomla version to 1.0.12 and then 1.0.13 as well.
I seemed to have fixed it with a bit of editing. Not sure why - but it does work now...
See

for the new updated code which gets the session to work properly.

How to us e as a menu link by John.Bekker, June 25, 2007
1 of 1 people find this review helpful:
I removed the output lines at the bottom so the last lines now look like
---------------------------------------------------------------
mosErrorAlert("You have no access to site backend.", "document.location.href='$mosConfig_live_site/index.php'");
}
}
?>
--------------------------------------------------------------
publish the module so there is not output
then create a menu link "index.php?goto=/administrator" and you can autologin by clicking the link

Exactly what I was after by bludot, June 3, 2007
I searched and found this module.. exactly what I was after.

The only thing I did with this was modify the mod_autologin.php file (found in /modules) and change line 99 so that it looks like this:

echo "$title";

The reason I did this is so that:
1. The module $title is left aligned
2. The $title formatting is removed so that it uses my style sheet settings
3. It then fits into my menu either with a Title shown or not.

Useful module for me. Well done.

Very helpful! by Ashfire908, February 21, 2007
I use long and complex passwordsfor my site and it's a pain to keep retyping them. By using this module to auto-login coupled with the Joomla! core "remember me" option, i never need to type my password! I love this module!

Does what it says it does but .... by Rafmeister, February 5, 2007

What is the point?

I've installed this after reading all the reviews and I thought "yeah, maybe it will speed things up a bit" but all it does is open a new window for admin and if your session has expired you have to login again anyway.

May aswell just create your own link in the menu system, or better still, increase security slightly and NOT link to your admin area.

Just minor changes, some people asked me to make multilingual version of my module, and I added some additional options for text strings in module configuration page.

Good job! by Top Nurse, November 11, 2006
Works exactly as stated and makes it real easy to get in the backend. One minor bitch is that it always seems to get a dual login on the admin pages. No big deal as I know about it and when I log out of the system it logs out both. :)

Love it by marshull, November 8, 2006
No problem installing and it works as designed. Really speeds things up.

This is so great! by nickinglis, September 6, 2006
I have this set as special access so that it shows up only for the special users, point click and I'm in the backend of the website. This is a must for designers, right up there with JoomlaXplorer.

Nice by Shadal, August 11, 2006
Great module, no longer have to double login. Would have been better if it could have a menu link rather than another module though.

Handy if you work a lot in the backend.
You get a module with the hyperlink text:
proceed to site administration

When you aren't manager or (super) administrator you
see: No Access

I like it :-)
