I try to limit my users' access to the backend admin section as much as possible. So, this extension it absolutely perfect. They can now add shows and venues (and lots more) from the front end of their site. It was a small download and installs easy. It worked straight away, with no special setup on my part. WOW. Just what I needed. Thanks for your work!

It's great to have a component that allows frontend updating.
Add me to the list of people who would like adding gigs be related to a specific band, so specific bands can update their own gigs.

I will say that I have previously tried installing this before, but for some unknown reason I could not get it to work properly during the install portion. After much time, I tried again and it worked just fine.
I enjoy the simplicity in being able to Add Gigs, Events and Venues directly from the front end, making it possible for Band Members and non-pc people to do their thing w/o complications.
Fantastic, if only more components could flex admin muscle from the front-end.

Great work gente!
If there is a way we change the dateformat on the entryform, it would even be better. Very happy with the way it works!

This is a great add on for gig calendar. Works just like it says, easy install, you'll be up and rolling in no time. It is difficult, however, to navigate the foreign website. at least its difficult to me... and so it is also somewhat difficult to find support. For example, the add event page doesn't fit in my template and I need to find a place to edit some of the css for this page, or I need some way to tweak it. I can't find a place to do this though. :-/ Oh well, it will still work fine for my purposes.

this is a great tool. i am using it for my site and it has been great. i run a record label and it is great for keeping things straight. i really like the RSS feed; i can feed all the show to individual artist pages (note for enhancement: i can't get the city to show up in the feeed, just venue. city is more important for touring bands, i think)

I was quite frustrated with using the gigcal component alone as it didn't really have all the features that I needed for my site. After installing gigCalendar Addon FrontEnd all my issues were solved and now I can sleep again at night :)
Top work

Jorge has done a heck of a job with this. It takes on what was probably the most requested feature for gigCalendar and best of all, it actually works!
There are a couple of minor tweaks it could use, but Jorge seems more than willing to work on them. (Things like, sorting the results of the Gigs by Category by date rather than in the order that they were entered.)
Overall, it was a clean install, and fairly easy to configure. With a few tweaks it will move up to a 5 Star soon.

This component has been on many a GigCalendar user's wishlist for a very looong time, uncluding on mine.
Installation went smooth, next step was to add a component link to the menu. The dev thought of other things to. after installation you get a few simple instructions on how to add menuitems for various functions like view bands, view venues, add band, add venue, show own submissions, etc.
The dev even thought of adding some more functionality even. It is now possible to categorize your gigs (not required though) and to enter a genre for the bands.
I gave this component 4 stars, because even though this component leaves little to be desired, it's too bad that it isn't possible to view all bands/gigs in a genre, or to show gigs by city and/or state. I would also like to have the option to disable the "Add New Category" link in the "Add new gig" dialog.
However, this is only a first release and if i could give 4.75 stars, i would have because it is already that good!
